Focus on our activities in the DRC

Our mission in the DRC has existed since 2001. PUI is developing its integrated approach there with projects in primary health and the fight against malnutrition. PUI operates in Kinshasa with an STI prevention and treatment project, in Ituri with health and nutrition projects, and in North Kivu through an integrated emergency health and nutrition approach supplemented by food security activities. .

And the Field Coordinator in all this?

As a Field Coordinator, you will be responsible for the proper functioning of the base and the proper implementation of the programs developed on this base.

To this end, your responsibilities will be as follows:

  • Security : You will be responsible for security on the base
  • Programs : You will coordinate teams and ensure the proper implementation of programs on the base, under the supervision of your direct supervisor.
  • Human Resources : You will supervise all base teams, national and international staff.
  • Logistical, administrative and financial monitoring : You will supervise the logistical, administrative and financial aspects on the base for the implementation of the programs, and you will ensure compliance with the related procedures, with the functional support of the Logistics Coordinator, and the Administrative and Financial Coordinator of the mission.
  • Representation : You will represent the association to partners, authorities and various local actors involved in the base’s intervention area.
  • Coordination : You will centralize and disseminate information from/to the base and consolidate internal and external reporting of activities implemented in the intervention area before transmitting it to your direct line manager.
  • Evaluation/Strategy: You will participate in the development of the strategy and propose new interventions based on the needs identified in the intervention area.

The challenges that await you:

– Continue to support the restructuring of PUI’s operational bases – Maintain positive external relations with the various local key players – Guarantee good compliance with PUI’s internal procedures, and the quality of the projects implemented – Monitor and analyze the context humanitarian and security – Propose operational readjustments, if necessary, and contribute to refining the overall PUI strategy

What you will need to succeed

  • Training: You can provide proof of a higher diploma (min. Master 2 or equivalent) in a field linked to humanitarian action: project management, technical training linked to one of our sectors of intervention, resource management human, financial management, etc.
  • Experience: You have at least one year of field experience in an international NGO, in project coordination. Experience in expatriate team management, project management, and security management is highly appreciated. Have you already held the position of Field Coordinator or equivalent in an international NGO? This will also be valued. Have you already worked with Première Urgence Internationale? This will be an undeniable asset!
  • Skills: You master humanitarian project management and team management, you have a good knowledge of the main donors. You have excellent writing skills.
  • Required qualities: You demonstrate good interpersonal skills, ease of communication, both written and oral, and you have a taste for teamwork. You demonstrate leadership and the ability to make decisions, reliability and a sense of responsibility, rigor and organization, responsiveness and adaptability. You have excellent resistance to stress and an ability to work under pressure.
  • Languages: French and English have no secrets for you? Good, it’s essential for this position! If you also speak Arabic, this will also be an undeniable asset.

PUI will offer you

  • Status: Executive on a fixed-term contract
  • Gross monthly salary: 2,650.00 – 3,130.00 EUR depending on your experience in international solidarity + 50€ per semester of seniority with PUI

  • Living expenses (“Per Diem”)
  • Break regime: 5 working days at 3 and 9 months of mission + break bonus
