CONTEXT :
HI has been operating in Tunisia since 1992, occasionally then permanently from 1997, within the framework of a cooperation agreement signed with the Ministry of Social Affairs. In 2006, HI embarked on actions to strengthen the capacities of associations in project management, review institutional projects, and network professionals working with people with disabilities.
Since 2011, HI has developed its actions to improve the consideration of the rights of disabled people in the democratic transition phase and our main transversal successes relate to: · Strong institutional recognition, at ministerial level as well as in civil society · Studies and research, sources of knowledge on disability for action and advocacy via Disabled People’s Organizations. · A capacity for innovation and knowledge management, with a strong investment in new technologies. · A territorial anchor, partners and an intervention methodology which allow us to extend our actions to other vulnerable populations
The Tunisia mission is attached to the Maghreb regional program. It is made up of 21 employees and implements 4 projects, including 3 under the management of the Operations Manager.
YOUR MISSION :
The main objectives of the Operations Manager’s mission will be to ensure the management of projects in Tunisia according to operational and methodological standards and to enable the capacity building of the staff of the operational team for better autonomy according to HI standards.
With this in mind, its objectives will be:
Objective 1: Ensure the management of the operational team and enable the implementation of projects respecting deadlines and the required quality
Objective 2: Strengthen control of quality and methodological standards (PQP)
Objective 3: Ensure the transfer of skills of operational staff and bring them to greater autonomy in quality standards
Objective 4: Collaborate in the development of partnerships with a view to new projects
YOUR PROFILE :
- You have 5 years of experience in a humanitarian context, in a program management position and experienced in team management,
- You are recognized for your ability to strengthen the skills of your employees,
- You are a teacher and patient,
- You have already organized thematic workshops and like to help your teams grow,
- You are fluent in French and English, both spoken and written.
SPECIFICITIES/PARTICULARITIES OF THE POSITION:
There are no particular security constraints in Tunis. Living conditions in Tunisia are excellent and close to European standards. Travel is easy and a number of leisure activities are available (sport, outings, festivals, cultural visits, etc.).

- International contract of 24 months starting ideally from 04/01/2024
