For thirty years, the international NGO Acted has been working on the last mile of humanitarian action to save lives. Acted currently supports 20 million people in 43 countries to meet their needs in hard-to-reach areas, and pursues a triple humanitarian, environmental and development mandate. Acted Haïti
Present in Haiti since 2004, Acted responds to emergencies and supports the recovery of populations in need, particularly in the areas of water, hygiene and sanitation, food security and reconstruction. In collaboration with civil society and institutions, Acted also develops and implements programs focused on socio-economic development and adaptation to climate change. Acted currently works in 5 departments in Haiti, namely Grand’Anse, South, South-East, West, and Center, and soon in Nippes.
Regarding Acted’s major achievements in 2020-2021:
• 5,562 people received monetary assistance to meet their priority needs
• 12 health centers rehabilitated and supported to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic
• 35 water networks and infrastructure rehabilitated to improve access to water water, hygiene and sanitation
• 1,125 people rehoused thanks to the reconstruction of their homes
• 394,532 people made aware of preventive measures against Covid-19
Following the earthquake of August 14, 2021 which devastated the departments of South, Grande Anse and Nippes in Haiti, Acted is recruiting. Acted was one of the first humanitarian organizations to conduct rapid assessments to determine the extent of the damage and needs, and is already heavily mobilized to provide emergency aid to victims of the earthquake, in close collaboration with the Haitian authorities. The activities currently carried out concern the supply of drinking water, the distribution of hygiene kits and the conduct of sanitation and rehabilitation work on water networks, but also the distribution of food and the payment of financial aid. emergency, the distribution of essential goods and, soon, the implementation of housing solutions for the most vulnerable people, in 12 municipalities in the 3 departments.
Main role and responsibilities
The Project Development Manager represents Acted with donors and manages the development of project proposals in line with the overall strategy of Acted and the country program and ensures appropriate grant management. The Project Development Manager ensures smooth internal communication and coordination with relevant departments and contributes to Acted’s external communications strategy.

Qualifications and skills required
- Master’s level training in a relevant field such as international relations, development or political science;
- Prior experience in humanitarian work, proposal development, grant management and donor relations is required;
- Knowledge of the humanitarian aid system and ability to understand donor systems;
- External representation skills;
- Ability to coordinate and manage a team;
- Ability to work in a team and build a team, ability to build capacity;
- Ability to work independently and creatively in a multicultural context;
- Strong oral and written communication skills, analytical skills;
- Ability to work effectively under pressure;
- Prior experience abroad is required;
Conditions
- Salary defined by the Acted salary scale according to the level of studies, expertise, level of security and level of experience: between €3,200 and €3,400 net monthly (before income taxes)
- Monthly living expenses allowance $300
- Guesthouse accommodation and food covered by Acted
- Social security, mutual (MSH) and repatriation assistance (SOS International) supported by Acted
- Transport to the mission and return ticket fully covered every 6 months (to the address specified on the employment contract)
- Visa fees covered by Acted
- R&R every 3 months (plane ticket covered up to $500 + additional compensation of $200)
- One week of preparation for departure including 4 days of immersion safety training
- Possibility of having a 30-minute call with a tax consultant
- Psychological support (meeting with a professional)
