Honduras Technical Specialist in Disaster Risk Management and Humanitarian Response At Plan International

Purpose:

Provide assistance and technical support to ensure that families, children, communities and the organization’s staff develop capacities to carry out actions to build resilience for disaster risk reduction and also to ensure compliance with quality standards and accountability during response to emergency situations and disasters with a gender perspective.

Academic Qualifications and Experience

  • University degree in social sciences, diploma or master’s degree in topics related to the area of ​​risk management and/or humanitarian management.
  • Knowledge of the country’s regulatory and policy framework for humanitarian response.
  • Knowledge and experience (desirable) in managing gender approaches.
  • Knowledge of humanitarian standards for humanitarian response.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in risk management, humanitarian response or related areas.
  • Minimum 3 years experience leading humanitarian management and response
  • Minimum experience of 3 years in planning, design and/or strategic alignment processes, monitoring, evaluation and/or systematization of social development programs/projects.
  • Experience in similar positions in development organizations and/or public sector.
  • Management of community, local and regional reality.
  • Knowledge of cooperation policies in the area and experience in relationships with donors
  • Availability to travel inside and outside the country and field work.
  • Advanced command of the English language (intermediate or higher desirable).
