About the role

The PO Nutrition support within the zonal coordination team for the implementation of PINGS Nutrition activities. Thus, he provides technical and methodological support to the zone coordinator in monitoring, planning, implementation and continuous evaluation of nutrition activities

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Support development of gender sensitive tools and guidelines to facilitate high quality planning of Nutrition in project workplans and budgets.
  • Participate in the development of project plans and setting of high-quality performance targets for Nutrition activities at zonal level
  • Support the development of manuals and guides and participate in trainings and workshops on specific Nutrition activities.
  • Ensure that capacity building in Nutrition has been carried out through the training provided under the PINGS project
  • Ensure that Nutrition activities are implemented in accordance with agreed approaches, guidelines, and procedures
  • Plan on a quarterly basis the specific activities of the Nutrition activities.
  • Work with decentralized technical services to facilitate the execution of activities related to Nutrition
  • Promote the participatory approach and ensure respect for the gender approach and the effective involvement of beneficiaries and their support for the Nutrition approach and activities.
  • Advise and help promote appropriate community mobilization strategies around Nutrition initiatives
  • Support the PINGS Project Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, implementing partners and key stakeholders in collecting, analyzing and reporting data on the implementation of nutrition activities and progress.
  • Continuously monitor the effectiveness and quality of the implementation of nutrition interventions in all targeted areas.
  • Prepare quarterly Nutrition reports to be submitted to the zone coordinator.
  • Support the development of timely annual and semi-annual progress reports that meet donor requirements and quality standards.
  • Promote consistency in the nutrition approach, the complementarity of nutrition activities at the community level, the search for synergy and partnership and exchanges with other projects and state stakeholders
  • Supervise the targeting process of beneficiary households in his area and provide methodological support to field staffs
  • Undertake periodic field visits to zonal sites to provide technical direction to implementing partners.
  • Follow-up the timely implementation of recommendations from monitoring visits and evaluation

About you

Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or other related field from a recognized university or an acceptable combination of education and experience.

3 years’ experience working in nutrition,3 years’ experience supporting nutrition project

Experience working with the Microsoft Office

Ability to plan and organize work to meet deadlines, and to accommodate to new situations within the organization (flexibility)

Ability to work under pressure, Strong numerical skills, Excellent interpersonal skills, Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing, Attention to details, Integrity and teamwork

Fluent in English and French
