The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, working in more than 40 countries to provide appropriate assistance with a rights-based approach to refugees, asylum seekers, internally displaced persons, returnees and migrants. . DRC’s integrated humanitarian response is based primarily on protection activities, with components of shelter interventions, WASH, unconditional multipurpose cash, NFI and livelihoods, as well as humanitarian demining activities in Caquetá and Bolívar.
General Position Description:
Under the supervision of the Livelihoods Team Leader, the Entrepreneurship Assistant (AEMPR), is responsible for the effective and professional performance of the field and office activities of the entrepreneurship component of the Economic Recovery program Means of DRC Life in the assigned territory, in coordination with officials.
Responsibilities:
Livelihood Project Implementation-entrepreneurship component
- Participate in the implementation of specific activities of the Livelihood entrepreneurship component (80% field work, 20% office, contributing to the highest quality in interventions).
- Implement the plans and instructions established from the different areas of the Organization.
- Carry out profiling and registration of beneficiaries, vocational and entrepreneurial diagnosis, selection of beneficiaries in accordance with established criteria, development of training processes (including facilitation of sessions, coordination of external trainers, support to the officer in logistical and financial organization), visits individual monitoring of entrepreneurs and post-training monitoring, and post delivery of seed capital, as well as support in monitoring the activities of the ventures part of the project in coordination with the entrepreneurship officer.
- Management of the database of entrepreneurs in the indicated intervention area.
- Establish telephone contact with participants to establish appointments, calls, and collect and/or provide information in coordination with the employability officer.
- Coordinate, together with the entrepreneurship officer, with the other actors in the territory.
- Support in the management, support and monitoring of program participants, including product development (e.g. business plan).
- Actively participate in the creation of proposals, content, and activities developed by the work team.
- Identify cases of special attention and refer to the relevant programs and/or entities.
- Participate in the preparation of reports and proposals.

- Participate in training activities, drills and those that are scheduled from occupational health and safety.
- Participate and contribute to the fulfillment of the SG-SST policy and objectives.
Minimum required experience and skills:
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in humanitarian protection, social work, human rights or other similar field work, related to an NGO or other non-profit organization.
- Field experience and work with urban, and/or rural, and/or indigenous communities.
- Experience and ability to interview and communicate with people of all ages and backgrounds, addressing cases with high emotional impact.
- Experience in training sessions/workshops in communities.
- Good skills in working with tablets and computers.
- Good skills in MS Word and Excel.
- Willingness and ability to learn.
- High capacity for self-management and time management.
- Experience with standard procedures and guidelines.

Education:
Relevant university degree (e.g. political science, law, international development, social work, psychology, human rights) or Technician/Technologist.
