Background

From March 27 to 29, 2019, more than 50 representatives of 32 organizations from 21 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), North America and Europe, convened by the ACT Alliance, met in Guatemala City to discern and discuss the complex and volatile situation in the region, the intersection with global political processes, as well as its implication in human rights, security, democracy, humanitarian needs and sustainable development.

In 2024, members from Latin America and the Caribbean will meet again to discuss the impact of regressive agendas in terms of human rights and democracies and our role as ecumenical actors in the face of this phenomenon.
