Médecins Sans Frontières , an international humanitarian medical association created in 1971, provides medical assistance to populations whose lives are threatened: mainly in the event of armed conflicts, but also epidemics, pandemics, natural disasters or even exclusion from care. The French section is present in around thirty countries. As part of a replacement and an increase in activity, we are looking for a: HOUSEHOLD in Ile de France in Sevran (93) M/F

Context :

Since 2017 Médecins Sans Frontières has managed a project in Ile de France. This project is composed of:

  • A day center in Pantin (93) for Unaccompanied Minors, which provides support through three areas of activity: socio-legal, somatic health and mental health.
  • A Mobile Clinic operating in Ile de France.
  • An accommodation system, called “Passerelle” located in Sevran (93). This system has a capacity of 20 beds divided into two houses located in Sevran. It offers comprehensive support, with a view to protection and access to socio-educational support. The “Passerelle” team collaborates with the multidisciplinary team (socio-legal, somatic health and mental health) which also supports the young people accommodated. The hostess works as part of the “Passerelle” program.

Main Mission :

As part of an educational team and under the responsibility of the Accommodation Manager, the Housemistress participates in the management, proper functioning and security of living spaces. She ensures a presence during the day and/or evening. A real benchmark for young people supported, it allows them to take ownership of their living space, creates a link with the members of the educational and healthcare team, in order to guarantee a pleasant and safe living environment and to promote well-being. physical and psychological of the young people supported. The hostess plays the role of a reference adult, while respecting the service project and upholding the values ​​of the organization.

Responsibilities :

  • In collaboration with social workers, participate in the reception and integration of young people newly included in the system.
  • In collaboration with social workers, ensure a role as a reference adult for young people by transmitting knowledge and know-how and contributing to their inclusion in French society.
  • Contribute to the empowerment of young people by involving them in the maintenance and operation of their living space and in daily life activities (learning domestic hygiene, culinary techniques, balanced diet, etc.), by relying on individual and/or collective life times.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance of accommodation by involving the young people accommodated (monitoring the cleaning of common areas and rooms), thus contributing to the hygiene and comfort of young people.
  • In collaboration with social workers, participate in meal times in order to promote pleasure and the desire to eat while respecting hygiene and food safety rules.
  • Under the supervision of the Accommodation Manager, monitor stocks and expenses incurred for the proper functioning of accommodation.
  • Collaborate with social workers to prevent incidents or accidents involving people.
  • Participate in group dynamics and conflict management with the educational team.
  • Ensure the collection and transmission of information using appropriate tools.
  • Participate in team meetings.

Required profile

Formation :

  • TISF diploma, BTS social and family economics, personal service/home help diploma, or equivalent.
  • B license required.

Experience : At least one year in a similar position such as a children’s home, social accommodation center, etc.

Languages : Essential French.

Skills and Abilities :

Status: Fixed-term contract (CDD) 12 months, renewable.

Conditions : €2,506.21 gross monthly over 13 months. 22 days of RTT per year. Supplementary health care 100% covered by Médecins Sans Frontières. Restaurant vouchers with a face value of €11.00 (60% covered by MSF). 50% coverage of public transport fare or equivalent.
