ABOUT US
SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian aid association which, since more than 40 years, has been providing assistance to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters by meeting their basic needs for food, water and shelter. Particularly committed to the fight against diseases linked to unsafe water, the leading cause of death in the world, SI’s interventions provide expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and hygiene promotion, but also in the essential area of food security and livelihoods. Present in some twenty countries, the SI teams – 2500 people in total, made up of expatriates, national staff, permanent staff at HQ, and a few volunteers – intervene with professionalism and commitment while respecting cultural norms.
ABOUT THE MISSION
The humanitarian situation in Sudan is critical and requires high level of flexibility and coordination amongst humanitarian actors to ensure an effective life-saving response capacity.
To provide the most appropriate and integrated response, SI is currently leading 2 projects in consortium (BHA, with Triangle Generation Humantaire, Premiere Urgence Internationale and Mercy Corps) and a multi donor ERM project (with Triangle Generation Humanitaire, Concern, and DCD (NNGO)).
Together, these consortium partners aim to provide a multisectoral emergency reponse (Humanitarian Coordination, FSL, Health, Nutrition, Protection, Shelter, Wash) to conflict affected populations in the 5 Darfurs states, Gedaref, Al Jazeera and Khartoum.
ABOUT THE JOB
The main challenges:
- Ensure Consortium representation with partners and other stakeholders : good representatation, communication skills, good organization
- Ensure internal Coordination with SI collaborators and 6 consortium partners through 2 different projects (multi-donors) which includes a challenging workflow
- Ensure a good project managements (project planning, project implementation follow up, project quality control, grant management) : the collaborator must be attentive to details and adaptable, problem solver spirit
- Follow-up projects in a complex context (with various types of challenges & context changes)
Priorities for the 2/3 first months:
- launch the project (kick off) with all partners
- create easy-to-use project monitoring tools, present them to all partners and ensure that they are used by all.
- set up a project follow-up + grant reporting schedule and ensure all partners are aware of it
- ensure that all contracts are signed between partners and SI
- follow-up the NNGO selection and contractualization for each partners
YOUR PROFILE
Education / academic background:
- A first experience on a similar position
- 3-4 years experience in the humanitarian sector
Specific skills and experience:
- Being a strong team player : ability to work with culturally diverse groups of people
- Excellent representation, communication and drafting skills;
- Ability to organize and plan effectively, respectuful of the deadlines
- Proven ability to work creatively and independently both in the field and in the office;
- Attentive to details and adaptable : problem solver spirit
- Fluent French and English skills
SI WILL OFFER YOU
A salaried position:
According to experience, starting from EUR 3080 gross per month (2800 base salary + 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly) and a monthly Per Diem of USD 750.
SI also covers accommodation costs and travel expenses between the expatriate’s country of origin and the place of assignment.
Breaks: During the assignment, a system of alternation between work and time off is implemented at the rate of 7 working days every three months (with a USD 850 break allowance, allocated by Sl). To these breaks periods, SI grants one (1) additional rest day per month worked.
Insurance package: Expatriates benefit from an insurance package which refunds all healthcare expenses (including medical and surgical expenses, dental care and ophthalmological expenses, repatriation) and a welfare system including war risks. Essential vaccination and antimalarial treatment costs are refunded.

- Individual, comfortable room in the guesthouse, with electricity 24/7.
- Internet and Phone network available
- Restaurants and international food are available
Living conditions in N’Djamena are good. While in Sudan, you will be in an extremely volatile context and restrictions apply.
