Project Manager, Women’s and Kid’s Space (female only) At Glocal Roots

Glocal Roots is a small non-profit organization with projects in Switzerland and Greece. Glocal Roots develops projects aimed at increasing and strengthening the resilience and independence of displaced people. We are seeking a new project manager for our women’s and children’s space in Athens.

Project Overview:

Since May 2022, we have been operating a Women’s and Children’s space in the Victoria Community Center in Athens. Our center provides a clean, safe, and supportive community space for approximately 1,200 women and children each month. It includes a women’s space, a child-friendly area, and a textile maker space. In our community areas, we offer a variety of activities and workshops, medical appointments, and distributions for both women and children. In the designated textile maker space, we give refugee women the chance to attend sewing courses, sew independently, or become part of our Social Factory (for very skilled seamstresses). The Social Factory creates employment opportunities for multiple women through the production of our products.

The Women’s and Children’s Space in Athens is overseen by two project managers and is supported by one community project officer and approximately three to six external volunteers.
