Blue Ventures is recruiting a Project Manager who will have overall responsibility for leading and coordinate the project. He/she will ensure that project activities and results are achieved on time, funds are managed accurately and in a timely manner, and donor rules are respected, while moving the project forward in a timely manner. focusing on impact.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership and Development:
• Lead the consortium through proactive engagement with its members, regular project status review meetings, and joint planning and review of project work plans.
• Manage a small team of key project officers to achieve project objectives.
• Represent Blue Ventures to project stakeholders, including government structures at local, regional and national levels.
• Coordinate field visits by partners, donors, etc.

Funder Engagement and Relationship Management:
• Serve as primary point of contact for all official communications with the funder, representing both Blue Ventures and the consortium of project partners.
• Manage and maintain good communications with the funder through effective grant management.
• Attend meetings with the funder, if applicable, including hosting the funder during on-site visits.

Grants Management:
• Ensure systems, processes and workflows for grants management and compliance are in place – including developing or updating them as necessary.
• Communicate financial and technical grant requirements to project and support teams to ensure all internal stakeholders know their roles and responsibilities with respect to compliance and deadlines.
• Manage the reporting process, payment requests and updated budget forecasts, including leading report writing where necessary and collaborating with project and finance teams to produce accurate narrative and financial reports and in due time.
• Ensure that all grant-related documents are stored and updated in the appropriate systems and easily accessible to others.

Document learning and report:
• Prioritize Blue Ventures’ efforts to document and share learning, supporting a culture of openness throughout the project cycle.
• Participate in the identification and broader communication of key learnings and program milestones, highlighting strategic moments and outcomes to raise the voice of small-scale fishers to an international audience.
• Represent Blue Ventures at national and international meetings, conferences and events to communicate our work and increase our visibility.
• Prepare articles, blogs, opinion pieces, scientific publications and other appropriate knowledge and communication content, as required.

Required Skills and Experience
– Proven experience in complying with donor rules and managing funding and relationships with institutional donors.
– University degree in a relevant field.
– At least five years of experience in project management.
– Fluency in English and French (written and spoken).
– Proven experience in project and budget management (e.g. project planning, grant management, establishing and monitoring budgets, project cycle management, narrative and financial reporting), preferably in an NGO setting international.
– Proven experience in team leadership and personnel management.
– Experience working within a consortium or as an implementing partner.
– Experience working with remote and isolated communities.
– Experience in community-centered approaches, capacity development at the community level.
– Experience in developing and maintaining systematic and transparent records to monitor projects and ensure accountability and auditing.
– Experience in effective, values-based partnership working between international and local organizations and communities.
– Knowledge of financial systems and processes.
– Excellent writing skills, including writing reports in English.
– High level of interpersonal and communication skills, including experience communicating effectively across cultures and with diverse audiences, both orally and in writing.

– Experience leading a consortium or contract with implementing partners.
– Prior experience implementing process improvement measures.
– Experience in developing logical frameworks and theories of change.
– Experience within a nature protection organization.
