WHAT DO WE DO …

Solidarités International  is a humanitarian association that works with vulnerable populations, mainly victims of armed conflicts and natural disasters. Specializing for more than 40 years in covering vital needs, it supports emergency and then reconstruction programs.

The Solidarités International (SI) project in France helps people in precarious situations living in precarious housing sites (such as shanty towns or squats) around Toulouse, Lille, Nantes, Marseille as well as in Ile-de-France. France and Mayotte. The difficulties of the target groups are characterized by the barriers they encounter in accessing essential services (notably cleaning and hygiene products) and by severely degraded housing conditions which do not allow decent living conditions due to of a very degraded environment. SI meets the needs of targeted populations by installing infrastructure for access to drinking water, sanitation infrastructure and the distribution of hygiene kits.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The logistics and finance assistant at the North and Nantes base carries out his duties under the authority of the Logistics Managers at the North and Nantes bases and works in collaboration with the program teams: WASH (Water, Hygiene and Sanitation) techniques and community mobilization .

List of main responsibilities:

  • Assist  the  log-fin manager in understanding the market and updating purchasing-related tools in compliance with donor rules
  • Ensure program and logistics orders as well as purchasing monitoring
  • Ensure the transport of goods, delivery of purchases and storage of goods before the intervention of technical teams
  • Assist  the  log-fin manager in the search for suppliers
  • Ensure the updating of accounting journals and archiving of accounting documents
  • Follow up on billing and make prepayments
  • Assist  the  log-fin manager in the search for donations
  • Assist  the  implementation of WASH activities with the program team by traveling with them to the field

Task details:

PURCHASES

  • Assist  the  log-fin manager in the study of French markets and the search for suppliers and donations
  • Participate in the preparation of purchasing files via the LINK platform in compliance with SI purchasing procedures
  • Travel to the field if necessary to monitor purchases, find suppliers and implement distributions
  • Implement the transport of goods between intervention areas
  • Participate in the compilation of logistics documents during final reports

TRANSPORT

  • Facilitate travel for members of your area by preparing train/hotel reservations
  • Assist  the  logistics and finance manager in organizing inter-base freight
  • Participate in monitoring fuel movements and the motorized fleet
  • Participate in transporting teams to the field

STORAGE

  • Ensure stock inventory with the logistics and finance manager
  • Inform the program teams of the arrival of products in stock
  • Ensure inventory tracking

ACCOUNTING

Assist  the  logistics and finance manager in all accounting tasks:

  • Collect then compile all individual bank card tracking (logs) in your area
  • Verify and archive supporting documents
  • Compile logs, check the consistency of analytical information and the correct allocation of expenses
  • Gather all the elements of the accounting pack for monthly sending to the logistics and finance manager
  • Contribute to the monthly and annual accounting closing

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

  • Participate in verifying the budget monitoring of the mission
  • Participate in the verification of OFU (Operational follow up) and LFU (Logistics follow up) with the entries made in accounting
  • Assist in the preparation of financial audits

GENERAL

  • Participate in weekly and monthly meetings of the office and the different departments worked
  • Provide support to all areas according to requests
  • Ensure the archiving of logistical and financial documents in your area

Participate in the creation of monthly logistical and financial packs

YOUR PROFILE

  • Coming from training in humanitarian logistics, accounting and/or financial management, project management, development, international relations, political sciences (Bac+3/4/5)
  • Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office pack (mainly Word and Excel)
  • Very good analytical and writing skills
  • Good synthesis and prioritization skills
  • Proactivity and critical thinking
  • Organisation et anticipation
  • Social skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Interest in the context: access to water on French territory
  • Commitment to the principles and work of Solidarités International
  • B license and driving ability in Paris required

IF WILL OFFER YOU THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS

  • Internship based at the SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL headquarters in Clichy (92), Clichy Town Hall metro station
  • Intern with mandatory internship agreement.
  • Bonus: 4.90 euros/hour
  • The bonus is calculated in proportion to the actual hours of attendance over the month. (On average 1 month = 154 hours, or 22 days of 7 hours/day)
  • Public transport covered at 50% by SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL
  • Restaurant tickets at €8.90/effective day of training, with 60% participation from SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL
