Promotor de Agua, Saneamiento e Higiene – Maripa, Edo. Bolívar. At International Medical Corps

OBJECTIVE:  Support the implementation of WASH communication strategies through Social and Behavior Change (SBC) approaches to increase knowledge and influence the attitudes of community members on hygiene, sanitation, waste management and household practices to community level.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participate in the implementation of activities and identify indicators to monitor the activities, results and achievements of the implementation of WASH program activities.
• Provide support to WASH teams, Programs and MERA, for the organization and execution of evaluations and research on the impact of WASH activities and identify and report on the limitations, difficulties or strengths of the WASH activities strategy inside and outside the medical structures, in order to strengthen the link between the communities and the project.
• Support the selection and development of quality pedagogical communication strategies for the community.
• Plan information campaigns, including goals, objectives, methods and objectives to raise awareness among the target population.
• Inform, in accordance with protocols, community members and identified risk groups on WASH-related issues.
• Organize WASH promotion sessions for IMC staff.
• Identify key actors (national authorities, national NGOs, traditional healers, formal or informal authorities) to support the dissemination of health information to the target population and be the focal point for the relationship and networking between them.

Minimum requirements:

• Bachelor or degree in education, teacher of any specialization or careers related to the area of ​​education
• 6 months of experience in activities related to WASH or community promotion
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills (required)
• Residence in Maripa, Edo. Bolívar (or availability to relocate).
