Overview of position:
Under the overall guidance of the Chief Human Resources Officer, the Human Resources Assistant (HRA) will be providing support to the various units to manage the separation & repatriation of staff members as part of the HR disengagement plan.

Objectives:
The Human Resources Assistant will provide specialized support to the various HR units as per the workload of the teams.

Outputs:
Provides expert human resources support to handle the various cases submitted by staff members during this liquidation phase, supports archiving operations including management of files, materials & personnel contracts.
Stepping in to take over tasks of HR team members going on leave of absence.

The Human Resources Assistant will undertake projects, providing specialized HR support & recommendation to the Team Leaders & CHRO. The HRA will be responsible for the following:
Support & advise the Human Resources Officers with the management of international consultants.
Be a backstop during absence of HR staff.
Contribute in the implementation of the FIR disengagement plan as per Liquidation Entity (LE) objectives.
Assist with the setup of the single window client service center for check out procedures.
Submit administrative documents in Share Point for the processing of FTAs, reassignments, separation.
Provide briefing to separating staff members on matters related to pension, including helping staff members accessed their online account under the UNJSPF profile.
Assist in organizing of HR clinic for entity staff members.
Take on any other duties assigned by the CHRO or HR Team Leader.

Project reporting:
This role will work under the overall guidance of the Chief Human Resources Officer.

Key competencies:
Bachelors degree in human resources, development studies, business administration or any related field.
Experience in working with UMOJA or other ERP including inspira.
Experience working with an international organization in a conflict / post conflict setting is required.
Knowledge of UN human resources & financial rules & regulations is mandatory.
A minimum of nine years of progressively responsible experience in human resources & administration or related area.
Qualifying years of experience are calculated following the receipt of bachelors degree recognized by the UN.
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft software.
English (both oral & written) is required & knowledge of French is desirable.

This role has no team management responsibility.
