Purpose and Scope of the Position
We are seeking a dynamic and versatile IT Infrastructure and Solutions Specialist to join our small NGO and take charge of our IT needs. This is a 32-hour per week role that replaces our current IT support consultant contract (5 hours per week) and has been expanded to include Architecture and Solution Management, as well as IT strategic planning. As the sole IT specialist in our organisation, the ideal candidate will manage our IT operations, including infrastructure, procurement, and support, while also taking on responsibilities for SharePoint administration and Microsoft Teams. We are looking for someone with a background in infrastructure and support, but with a keen interest in business analysis and process optimization. This is a new role in ICM, offering ample room to build out and grow with us.
Role Specific Responsibilities
Microsoft 365 Environment Management:
- Administration and maintenance of Microsoft 365 applications (Exchange Online, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint etc.)
- Identity and Access Management in Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).
- Security and compliance monitoring.
- Multifactor Authentication support
- Microsoft Defender for Endpoint
Cloud Storage Management:
- Monitoring & management of Microsoft 365 cloud storage
- Data backup, recovery, and security measures.
New User Device and Account Set-Up:
- Advice/support for procurement of IT equipment
- Configuration and deployment of new user devices.
- User account set-up and access provisioning.
General IT Support:
- Support users working from the office or remotely with day-to-day IT issues via TeamViewer and Microsoft Quick Assist
- Troubleshooting and resolution of technical problems.
- Support for both Windows and Mac operating systems.
- Liaising with vendors on DNS management, backup and compliance
- Facilitating training and onboarding on tools, policies and procedures in ICM’s technical and Information Management architecture.
Support for Consultants and Volunteers i.e. BYOD Policies:
- Creation, implementation and maintenance of BYOD policies
- Support/advice for consultants/volunteers using personal devices (BYOD).
- Support/advice for consultants/volunteers needing access to shared folders/teams’ channels.
SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams Management:
- Maintaining the organisation’s SharePoint environment as tenant administrator
- Advising on best practices in Information Management (especially within SharePoint / Office 365)
- Following up with departments and individuals to ensure processes are being followed
- Supporting the organisation in adhering to existing policies and procedures for GDPR and data security compliance
IT Strategy:
- Develop the IT strategy, aligning with the overall ICM strategy and vision, setting clear goals and priorities that reflect emerging technology trends and the organisation’s needs
- Maintain and drive the organisation’s IT landscape according to the strategic plan
Solutions Analysis:
- Assist in requirement gathering and product selection for solutions
- Work with teams to proactively assess End of Life applications and take part in assessments for replacement solutions
- Maintain documentation for solutions
- Analyse business processes and look for areas for improvement and optimisation
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related field
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an Infrastructure role working with Microsoft & Azure
- Experience supporting Multifactor Authentication (Microsoft)
- Microsoft Defender Endpoint Security experience
- IT support experience
- General understanding of SharePoint & Power Platform (or willingness to learn)
- Good communication skills and fluent in English
- Proven ability to translate functional requirements into technical solutions
Desirable Requirements and Skills
- Experience as a SharePoint Administrator or Power Platform developer
- Experience with Teams & Power BI
Location
The role is based at ICM’s Head Office in The Hague with the possibility of a hybrid working model. Candidates must be based in the Netherlands and are eligible to work in the Netherlands.
Job grade and salary range
The position is a job grade 13 and the salary span for this role is between 2,939 EURO and 4,408 Euro (gross monthly salary excl. holiday pay) and will be based on the specific knowledge and experience of the candidate.
Work schedule
The role is for 32 hours per week. The working pattern will be agreed between the candidate and ICM. This position reports to the Financial Controller and will involve occasional travel for project-related activities.
