WHAT DO WE DO …
SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian aid association which, for more than 40 years, has provided relief to populations victims of armed conflicts and natural disasters by responding to vital needs, drinking, eating and shelter. Particularly committed to the fight against diseases linked to unsafe water, the leading cause of death in the world, SI implements through its interventions expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and promotion hygiene but also in the essential aspect of food security and means of existence. Present in around twenty countries, the SI teams – 2,000 people in total made up of expatriates, national staff, permanent staff at headquarters, a few volunteers, etc. – intervene with professionalism and commitment while respecting cultures.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Within the Development and Communication department made up of 19 people, and directly attached to the Field Communication Representative and in collaboration with the Campaign and Content Creation Manager, you will provide support to the communications department for the collection and creation of content from the different countries where SI operates, with a significant component of graphic and audiovisual creation.
- Knowledge of the different programs and areas of expertise of Solidarités International
- Knowledge of the humanitarian and geopolitical context of the areas concerned
- Master communication tools, particularly video editing
MAIN TASKS :
HELP IN THE CREATION OF COMMUNICATION SUPPORT AND THE PRODUCTION OF CONTENT
- Support for the Field Communication Representative to collect information from the field and headquarters
- Production of short video montages, photo slideshows and infographics
- Document layout
- Creation of various graphic creations: digital banners, simple infographics, photo retouching, formatting of communication campaign elements (posters, press inserts)
- Occasional production of interviews with expatriates in videos or in writing
- Updating the association’s photo library and video library, in collaboration with the web center.
SUPPORT FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE NGO’S COMMUNICATION CAMPAIGNS
- Creative monitoring of the NGO sector and other sectors – offline and online
- Participation in brainstorming and proposing communications actions
- Monitoring of certain external content production providers (graphic designers, printer, etc.)
- Creation of creations and communication materials (Adobe Suite, Canva)
- Search for free media distribution spaces – updating managed listings, contact and follow-up requests
- Search for an influencer partnership – proposal, making contact and monitoring the collaboration with the campaign manager
PARTICIPATION IN INTERNAL COMMUNICATION
- Collection and dissemination of internal information (for example: mission newsletters, quarterly and annual activity reports)
- Participation in department discussions and meetings
- Occasional contribution to other actions of the communication department
- Participation and support in events organized by the communications department on an ad hoc basis
PROCESSING EXTERNAL REQUESTS
- Responses to requests for information from the mailbox
CONTRIBUTIONS FROM THE INTERNSHIP:
- Discover how the headquarters of an international NGO works as well as the relationships between headquarters and the field
- Discover the different professions of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL in the field and at headquarters, through the Communication Service operation
- Have a first approach to the functioning of a humanitarian mission and its specific constraints
- Understand the relationships between different humanitarian actors
- Know and master donor visibility requirements
- Discover the general strategy linked to the Communication of an NGO and its development
Put into practice and perfect your creative skills (graphic and audiovisual) and production monitoring tools
YOUR PROFILE
- Higher education (bac +3 level) preferably focused on journalism, communication, international relations and/or humanitarian project management
- Real interest and motivation for associations and humanitarian work
- Ideally, a first professional experience in communications
- Good writing skills
- Creativity, rigor, organization and autonomy.
- IT: good DTP skills (Adobe CC pack and in particular InDesign and Photoshop), video editing (Premiere Pro), Windows (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet and social networks, email (Outlook),
- Fluent English
IF WILL OFFER YOU THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS
- 6-month internship based at the SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL headquarters in Clichy (92), Clichy Town Hall metro station
- Intern with mandatory internship agreement.
- Bonus: 4.90 euros/hour
- The bonus is calculated in proportion to the actual hours of attendance over the month. (On average 1 month = 154 hours, or 22 days of 7 hours/day)
- Public transport covered at 50% by SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL
- Restaurant tickets at €8.90/effective day of training, with 60% participation from SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL
