What we are looking for:
Experience in senior level project management and implementation of Education programmes. Strong budget and stakeholder management skills with extensive experience in Formal and nonformal education, Youth Skills and emergency education responses.
Knowledge of the humanitarian context in Yemen and Education trends and needs in Yemen.
What you will do
The purpose of the Education Project Manager is to manage the implementation of the Education projects as assigned for Yemen.
In this position you will:
- Ensure high quality project management and compliance to NRC policies, CC and PCM tools, handbooks and guidelines.
- Contribute to the development of new funding proposals and budgets as well as strategic development of new projects and partnerships.
- Implement technical direction while maintaining high technical quality in project execution.
- Ensure timely and accurate project monitoring and evaluation, indicator tracking and donor reporting.
- Drive efficient and effective use of financial resources (activities and salaries) in line with proposals, strategies and donor requirements
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders.
- Coordinate and manage the South Area Education portfolio including demonstrating it in initiation planning , execution and implementation.
- Consolidate and integrate lessons learned from previous programming into new projects in coordination with M&E and the Education Specialist.
- Ensure capacity building of project staff and transfer key skills. Mainstreaming best practice into the education teams building a culture of critical analysis.
- Promote the rights of NRC’s target beneficiaries in line with the NRC Yemen Country and Area office Strategy.
- Represent NRC to internal and external fora, such as the education partner meeting, and to authorities such as local ministries and relevant municipalities.

What you will bring
- A Bachelors degree in education or relevant field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience from a senior level Education project implementation position in a humanitarian/recovery context with extensive experience of Formal/ nonformal education/ Youth Skills and emergency education responses.
- Excellent project management skills specifically in strong budget management (with knowledge of ECHO, USAID and other donor regulations) and analytical outcome monitoring with a demonstrated ability to synthesize multiple data points.
- Experience with managing youth programs and youth responses is essential
- Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts as well as post-conflict/recovery/long term projects recovery.
- Knowledge of the humanitarian context in Yemen and Education trends and needs in Yemen.
- Previous experience working on ECHO-funded projects is mandatory. Should have knowledge of ECHO and USAID donor compliance and reporting system/ requirements
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal
What we offer:
- Duty station: South, Area Office Yemen
- Contract: 12 months (Fixed-term contract renewal based on performance, funds availability and need for the position)
- Travel: Up to 40% (within the Yemen areas of implementation)
- Salary/benefits: Grade 8 on NRC’s salary scale, with accompanying terms and conditions
