Internist, Global Fund GC7 Grant At World Vision

Background

World Vision International (WVI) is a Christian humanitarian, development and rights advocacy organization whose goal is to create sustainable changes in the lives of children, families and communities living in poverty. As part of the fight against HIV, Tuberculosis and Malaria in the Central African Republic, WVI has been selected as a Principal Recipient of the Global Fund GC7 grant for the period from 2024 to 2026.

As part of the health system strengthening component of the grant, specifically in the area of human resources, WVI is recruiting 8 specialized medical doctors on behalf of the Ministry of Health and Population. These specialists will be assigned to specific hospitals in country to fill current gaps, ensure the transfer of skills and build the capacities of students of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Bangui.

Skills required:

  • Medical degree with specialization in internal medicine.
  • Substantial clinical experience in the diagnosis and treatment of internal diseases in adults.
  • Advanced communication and leadership skills, with a demonstrated aptitude for medical teaching and training. and Commitment to clinical research and contribution to scientific publications.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and adapt to a complex hospital environment.

Objective of the position:

The Internist plays a key role in the management of adult patients with complex and diverse medical conditions within the CNHUB. This position also includes significant responsibilities in medical education and training.

Main responsibilities:

Patient Care:

  • To assess and treat inpatient and outpatient adult patients with internal medical disorders, using advanced diagnostic skills and in-depth knowledge of internal medicine.
  • Collaborate with other specialists and medical team members to ensure integrated and effective management of complex cases. And Participate in multidisciplinary consultations to optimize treatment plans and management strategies.

Teaching:

  • Mentor and train internal medicine residents, interns, and medical students on the clinical, diagnostic, and therapeutic aspects of internal medicine.
  • Organize clinical seminars, academic presentations, and training sessions to share medical knowledge and promote best practices.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development programs for medical staff.

Research:

  • Contribute to clinical and translational research projects in the field of internal medicine, participating in study design, data collection, analysis of results, and writing of scientific articles.
  • Collaborate with other researchers and institutions to promote innovation and the advancement of knowledge in internal medicine.

Interdisciplinary collaboration:

  • Work closely with other medical specialties and hospital departments to ensure integrated and coordinated patient care.
  • Participate in hospital committee meetings and contribute to the development of clinical protocols and practice guidelines in internal medicine.
