Provide remote technical assistance to [1] Nicaraguan implementing partner in the design of barrier analysis, social and behavioral change framework, implementation guidance, and evaluation of implementation results.

1. Preparation of consultancy work plan.

The consultant must prepare a work plan detailing how he/she will carry out the activities requested in the terms of reference in an effective time of 3 months. However, this intervention period is not continuous, so he/she must consider the development of actions equivalent to 90 days, to be developed with interventions during a period of 8 months (duration of the project). He/she must also consider the execution of actions 2 and 3 in the first stage of intervention, which will provide the guidelines and bases for the execution of the project.

2. Guidance to PROCAVIN/GOAL on the approach required in the field to implement the behavior change process

The consultant will guide PROCAVIN/GOAL on how the application of instruments/consultations/approaches to implement the barrier analysis and the social and behaviour change framework will be developed, as well as the analysis of their application.

3. Design of the approach to barrier analysis or others

The design of the necessary consultations/surveys for obtaining and analyzing data must be carried out in order to provide findings on the characteristics and determinants of people/families with good WASH practices and the conditions of those people/families who do not have effective practices. To do so, PROCAVIN will lead the analysis of the information collected in the barrier analysis.

4. Design of the social and behavioral change framework and monitoring of its implementation

The provider, with input from the barrier analysis and knowledge of the activities proposed in the project, must design the framework for social and behavioral change to promote WASH culture in the two intervention communities. This framework will be implemented by PROCAVIN. The consultant must hold periodic meetings to evaluate progress and help resolve implementation queries, as well as define the mechanism for how the quality of the actions carried out will be measured and the impact that can be achieved during the project intervention period. This includes defining certain indicators that will guide the measurement.

5. Final report

Based on the monitoring and documentation of the progress of the application of the social and behavioral change framework, generate your final report.
