Contract Purpose

Background:

Within the development projects implemented by ACU, a project supporting the solar energy value chain is being implemented. This current phase follows a previous stage where the value chain was analyzed and the founding charter of what is now known as the Syrian Scientific Society for Renewable Energies was signed.

In this current phase, efforts will focus on governing the association’s work and implementing the business model approved by the board of directors to achieve the association’s objectives.

Objectives:

  • Building an administrative structure capable of organizing work and ensuring sustainability.
  • Organizing the work of different departments, and distributing roles and responsibilities.
  • Optimizing the use of human and material resources available in the association to achieve sustainability.

Location: Syria/Sarmada

Duration: 2 months (Aug and Sep 2024)

Key Responsibilities

Main deliverables:

  • 12 members received 10-day training in 5 core subjects:
    • Governance
    • Managerial skills
    • Quality management
    • Financial management
    • Project management
  • A work plan for the next phase includes future activities, resource management mechanisms, and sustainability achievement mechanisms.

Main Tasks

  • Designing customized training materials tailored to the nature of the target audience.
  • Evaluating the cognitive progress of trainees.
  • Preparing pre and post-training assessments.
  • Conducting 10 training sessions on the mentioned topics above.
  • Monitoring the application by association members of what they have been trained on and achieving the desired outcomes.
  • Assisting in issuing outputs in the best possible format.
  • Providing consultations and guidance to contribute to the development and increased dissemination of the association’s work.
  • Coordinating and maintaining continuous communication with project management to achieve the maximum desired benefit from the training sessions.

Qualification (Education/Work Experience)

  • Must have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Must have at least 5 years of professional experience, including a minimum of 3 years working with organizations.
  • Experience in business development and project management.
  • Good understanding of the Syrian context and knowledge of local community conditions.
  • Experience in training, workshop facilitation, and similar or related materials preparation.
  • Experience in negotiation, conflict resolution, and managing discussions.
  • Arabic language: Native proficiency.
  • English language: Ability to write reports and familiarity with field-related terminology.
