Management Control At Epicenter

Epicentre is an organization created by Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) in 1986. We conduct field epidemiology, training and research activities for MSF interventions or in collaboration with external partners. Our activities with populations in precarious situations are carried out from Uganda, Niger and France, and on MSF and other programs. They mainly concern infectious diseases and malnutrition.

Job Description

In the context of a year characterized by growth in activities, reflection within the framework of the new strategic plan and the implementation of a new financial system, Epicentre is strengthening its finance team. Reporting to the Financial Director, you will be the point of contact for the overall budget cycle, its monitoring and associated reporting, both internally and to the various entities of the MSF movement. You will provide support to the teams during the transition period to the new financial software and associated processes.

What you bring

Technical skills and know-how to carry out your main activities:

You coordinate the budgetary process within Epicentre, particularly in conjunction with other members of the finance team, project managers and department directors, more specifically:

  • you consolidate the overall annual budget of Epicentre bringing together all departments and structures (Niger, Uganda and France) and manage the budgetary revisions made during the annual financial year;
  • you provide support to teams in setting up budgets proposed to MSF operational centers;
  • you ensure and develop links between Epicentre and MSF operational centres concerning budgets and regular reporting.

You propose and produce relevant financial analyses and indicators.

You work closely with other members of the financial teams, particularly the financial controller of external financing, whom you support in developing proposals to donors, budgets and associated reporting.

You support the change of financial software with users, particularly project managers, and you participate in the transfer and control of data to the new software.

Qualifications

  • Higher education in management control or financial management;
  • Experience in budget management: Development, monitoring, analysis and updating of the budget;
  • Solid accounting knowledge;
  • Field humanitarian experience, experience with MSF appreciated;
  • Knowledge of financial management of projects funded by donors;
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and French;
  • Appetite for digital tools and perfect mastery of Excel;
  • Team spirit, teaching skills, diplomacy, excellent communication;
  • Good ability to prioritize and adapt, rigor.

  • Gross annual salary between €49K and €51K, depending on profile, over 13 months.
  • 22 RTT days per year in proportion to the time of presence.
  • Restaurant vouchers with a face value of €11.00 (60% covered by Epicentre).
  • Supplementary health insurance 100% covered by Epicentre.
  • 50% coverage of public transport subscription.
