ECPM is looking for a financial manager in an open-ended contract (CDI) At Together Against the Death Penalty

To cope with the development of its activities, ECPM is looking for a financial manager (e), with’experience, who can take over the supervision of the financial management of projects implemented at’international with local partners and help optimize the management in close contact with the director administrative and financial of the’association. Regular trips to our’intervention areas (Africa, Maghreb, Asia) are expected.

ECPM (Ensemble contre la peine de mort) acts to combat capital punishment all over the world. The’association promotes the universal abolition of the death penalty through advocacy with public authorities, the strengthening of abolitionist civil society, the creation and dissemination of publications, etc, support for people sentenced to death,’education to the’abolition of the death penalty in France and abroad. Since 2001, ECPM has organized the World Congress against the death penalty, as well as regional congresses, in different parts of the world.

The next World Congress will take place in France (Paris) in 2026, under the sponsorship of the French’State.

In order to bring’abolition locally, the’association implements programs with field partners in a dozen countries in sub-Saharan Africa, the Maghreb and the Middle East, and in Southeast Asia. ECPM is also developing a’Education programme for’abolition, human rights and citizenship in France.

The economic model of’ECPM is based in its vast majority on institutional public funds. The main donors of’ECPM are the’European Union (INTPA), the French Agency for Development (AFD), and the cooperation agencies of European countries. The average annual budget of’ECPM smoothed over three years is around 2 million’euros, a substantial part of which is donated to local partners on the ground.

Role and responsibilities :

Under the supervision of the administrative and financial director (DAF), you will join a team of 3 people within the administrative and financial division of ECPM. Your mission will be to ensure the financial management of projects implemented in collaboration with local partners.You will work closely with these partners, but also with the members of the ECPM programme team at headquarters in Paris.

Your main responsibilities :

  • Budget and financial management : you participate in the development of project financing plans and follow up, analyzing in particular the possible gaps and adjustments needed. You prepare the financial reports for the funders and participate in the financial audits. You participate in the preparation of the budget of the’association and the annual accounting closing.
  • Internal control and compliance : you ensure compliance with the rules of donors as well as the internal procedures of’ECPM.You prepare the partnership agreements with local partners and ensure their proper application.
  • Capitalization and optimization : you participate in the’ accompaniment and training of the members of the’administrative and financial team of’ECPM. You participate in the implementation and development of the training of’intervention partners in the target countries of’ECPM. You contribute to the capitalization of’ experiences and to the development or the’improvement of internal management tools and procedures.

Our partners in the field are small to very modest associative structures but real network heads of national movements in favor of’abolition. They are often worn by members of the legal profession. The place of volunteering is important as are the issues of professionalization in project management of the staff or staff that compose them. Inserted(e) within the administrative and financial division, and, you thus play a strategic role in the strengthening of these actors and in the development of’an optimum follow-up for them as for ECPM in order to carry the fight locally. Profile sought

Training : graduate(e) in finance/management/accounting.

Experience :

3 To 5 years of’ minimum experience on an equivalent position in management control and/or internal audit.

Field experience as administrative and financial coordinator(trice) of’an associative structure of international solidarity, or equivalent would be a plus.

Experience working with local partners.

Knowledge :

Knowledge of the procedures of the main institutional donors (EU, AFD etc.).

Mastery of the’computer tool and in particular Excel.

Mastery of’anglais in the professional context.

Profile :

Committed(e) on issues of international solidarity and motivated(e) by the defence of fundamental rights and the’abolition of the death penalty, you have a solid field experience that has allowed you to acquire fundamental notions about the’ intercultural approach and its challenges.

Possessing the required management skills, rigorous(se) and having the sense of’organization, you want to develop your business skills within a dynamic association with the stimulating work environment.

Your reactivity and capacity of’ adaptation will allow you to appreciate particularly the versatility of the position. A good relationship and a sense of diplomacy are essential.

Salary conditions

Status : CDI full time– poste cadre

Salary conditions : according to experience and profile.

Advantages : 6 Weeks paid leave and 12 RTT per year. Titles restaurant 11,97 € (supported at 60%). Possibility of teleworking on a regular basis (2 days/week). Refund 50 % public transport. Mutual support at 60% or 50% depending on the family situation. Recovery system (weekend, Sunday and doubled holiday) and annual collective bonuses.

Position taking : as soon as possible (thanks to’indicate your availability in the cover letter)

Location : Paris (travels in our countries of intervention are to be expected (about 2/year)
