Trainer for Capacity-Building Module

Modern Project Management and Agile Methodologies

Location: Gaziantep, Türkiye

Position Status: Full time

Length of Contract: One month

1. Background

Amal Healing and Advocacy Center (AHAC) is a refugee-led and women-led organization established in 2017, focused on empowering Syrian women, particularly refugees, by addressing critical issues such as gender equality, social justice, mental health, legal aid, and political empowerment. AHAC’s mission is to advocate, network, and empower Syrian women, fostering a peaceful society grounded in dignity, safety, and equality.

AHAC’s core values include women’s leadership, empowerment, social justice, equality, and democracy. With these guiding principles, AHAC provides services ranging from psychosocial support and legal aid to capacity-building and political empowerment initiatives, supporting Syrian women to become active leaders in their communities.

2. Project Overview

AHAC is undertaking a capacity-building project to enhance operational efficiency through modern management training. The project’s goal is to implement a series of training modules focused on management techniques and digital tools to improve workflow and coordination, particularly among key management and HR staff. This will enable AHAC to achieve a measurable increase in efficiency, better data management capabilities, and improved project completion rates.

3. Objective of the Training Module

Enhance Operational Efficiency through Agile Methodologies

This module, the first in a series of three, aims to equip AHAC’s management and HR team with essential skills in Agile methodologies to improve project execution, flexibility, and team coordination.

4. Scope of Work

The trainer will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive, engaging, and interactive training on Agile methodologies, focusing on tools and practices that can be readily applied within AHAC’s operations. The training is expected to cover:

  • Introduction to Agile principles and how they differ from traditional management methodologies.
  • Key Agile practices (e.g., sprint planning, scrum, kanban).
  • Application of Agile tools and techniques tailored for nonprofit and humanitarian contexts.
  • Real-life case studies to help participants understand the practical benefits of Agile methodologies.

5. Target Outcomes

Upon completion of this training module, AHAC’s management and HR team should:

  • Gain a clear understanding of Agile methodologies and how to apply them to their current workflows.
  • Be proficient in using Agile tools to manage tasks and projects effectively.
  • Demonstrate improved coordination and communication within the team.

6. Activities and Deliverables

  • Training Delivery: Conduct an interactive 2-3 day training session by 30/11/2024 focused on Agile methodologies and tools.
  • Training Materials: Provide a set of digital resources (handouts, presentation slides, and case study materials) for participants to refer to during and after the session.
  • Post-Training Assessment: Facilitate a short assessment or feedback survey to evaluate participant understanding and engagement.

7. Timeline

  • Training Deadline Date: 30 November 2024.
  • Assessment Submission: Trainer to submit a summary of feedback and participant engagement within one-week post-training.

8. Reporting Requirements

The trainer will report to AHAC’s Project Lead, providing:

  • A summary of training outcomes and observations.
  • Any recommendations for further capacity-building needs identified during the training.
  • Participant feedback and results from the post-training assessment.

9. Qualifications and Experience Required

The trainer should possess:

  • Proven experience in delivering Agile training, preferably in the nonprofit or humanitarian sectors.
  • Strong understanding of Agile project management tools and methodologies.
  • Prior experience working with diverse teams, ideally in cross-cultural or refugee settings.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with an ability to tailor content to various learning levels.

10. Evaluation Criteria

AHAC will assess applications based on:

  • Relevant experience and qualifications in Agile project management training.
  • Demonstrated success in training for capacity-building within nonprofit/humanitarian organizations.
  • Quality and clarity of the proposed training approach and methodology.
  • Competitive pricing aligned with the budget.

Please note that all payments for training services will be processed within Türkiye. Trainers providing their training through online sessions must ensure they have a means to receive payment through a Turkish bank account or another payment method accessible within Türkiye. AHAC cannot accommodate international payments outside of these arrangements.
