Job Purpose:

The GBV Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, design, execution, monitoring, and successful completion of GBV-focused activities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and donor requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning and Implementation

  • Ensure timely and efficient implementation of GBV project activities and outputs.
  • Develop and oversee annual, monthly, and weekly implementation plans.
  • Supervise the design and execution of GBV programs, ensuring alignment with objectives.
  • Coordinate the procurement, development, and distribution of project materials.
  • Ensure all resources align with organizational procedures and donor requirements.

Team Management and Capacity Building

  • Provide technical mentorship to GBV team members.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations for project staff.
  • Organize training sessions for staff on GBV principles, survivor-centered approaches, and case management.
  • Build the capacity of team members in psychosocial support, awareness sessions, and referral mechanisms.

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting

  • Monitor project indicators and measure progress toward achieving objectives.
  • Document best practices and lessons learned to support decision-making and learning.
  • Prepare and submit high-quality periodic progress reports.
  • Ensure reports meet donors’ and organizational standards.
  • Support the monitoring of project impact and recommend necessary adjustments.
  • Collaborate with the MEAL team to address feedback and ensure accountability.

GBV Programming and Technical Oversight

  • Oversee the development and use of a case management referral system.
  • Provide technical guidance on GBV case management and psychosocial support.
  • Ensure GBV activities adhere to survivor-centered principles and international standards.
  • Lead the technical design of GBV-focused project proposals and interventions.

Stakeholder Engagement and Representation

  • Represent the organization in GBV sub-clusters, working groups, and advocacy forums.
  • Act as the focal point for project inquiries from partners and donors.
  • Coordinate with community stakeholders to ensure inclusive programming.
  • Foster relationships with local partners and service providers to enhance project outcomes.
  • Identify potential risks in project implementation and propose mitigation strategies.

Interdepartmental Coordination

  • Coordinate with HR, finance, and SC departments to meet project needs.
  • Work with the MEAL team to integrate monitoring and feedback systems.
  • Ensure alignment between GBV activities and organizational goals across departments.

Note: the above-mentioned key responsibilities/accountabilities are illustrative ones. Other future responsibilities/accountabilities may be assigned to the job depending on the department’s organizational chart.

Qualifications (Education/Work Experience/Languages):

  1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Gender Studies, Social Work, Psychology, Project Management, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  2. Experience: Minimum 4 years of experience managing GBV-focused projects, preferably in emergency contexts.
  3. Languages: Fluency in Arabic and English (spoken and written). Proficiency in Turkish is an advantage.
  4. Turkish citizenship is mandatory.

Skills and Knowledge:

  1. Strong expertise in GBV programming, including prevention and response strategies.
  2. Comprehensive understanding of GBV case management, referral pathways, and psychosocial support.
  3. Experience in proposal writing and developing GBV-related BoQs, PRs, and procurement plans.
  4. Proficiency in budget tracking tools and financial reporting for GBV projects.
  5. Familiarity with donor platforms such as GMS and GBVIMS.
  6. Excellent documentation and archiving skills, including digital platforms.
