Founded in 1945, CARE is one of the world’s largest humanitarian networks, apolitical and non-denominational. Our mission is to fight extreme poverty. CARE implements emergency and development projects in complementary areas: education, food security, health, drinking water, development of income-generating activities by involving communities and collaborating with local partners. CARE defends women’s rights and supports their empowerment. Mission Description
General objective
Under the direct supervision of the Financial Manager, you will play a strategic role in the financial management of CARE France. You will be responsible for the reliability of accounting and financial data, as well as managing a team of four employees at headquarters.
Your main missions:
- Accounting and financial management
- Control accounting and analytical allocations.
- Ensure validation of expenses, re-invoicing, and payments.
- Supervise analyses and justifications related to third-party accounts, fixed assets, and bank reconciliations.
- Payroll and social charges
- Ensure the integration and monthly reconciliation of payroll and social security contributions.
- Oversee provisions and payments related to leave, taxes and duties.
- Cash flow monitoring
- Control grants, donations and legacies, as well as their accounting and analytical processing.
- Management of balances to be received and paid for all third parties (suppliers, partners, employees)
- Manage receipts and disbursements (direct debits) and ensure the regularity of bank reconciliations
- Management of bank administration (access, contacts, etc.) and establishment of a cash flow forecast.
- Accounting closings and audits
- Prepare and finalize monthly and annual closings in collaboration with auditors and internal teams, respond to requests from the statutory auditor.
- Ensure the justification of balance sheet accounts and dedicated funds.
- Supervision and coordination of accounting teams
- Manage a team of 4 employees at headquarters: an accounting officer dedicated to headquarters operations, two accounting officers in charge of country offices, and an accounting assistant on a work-study program.
- Support, supervise and advise field accounting officers (Lebanon office monitoring) to ensure effective consolidation of accounting data.
- Ensure the development of team skills, the distribution of tasks and the coordination of accounting activities between the different levels.
- Process development and improvement
- Be the key contact between the Shared Services Center (SSC) – the Shared Services Center based in Manila, which manages the accounting system and certain transaction flows – and the internal teams.
- Maintain and optimize accounting procedures and monitoring of analytical allocations in relation to Management Control, Programs and Marketing. Ensure their application.
Profile sought
Training and Experience:
- Diploma in accounting (e.g. DCG, DSCG)/management, or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting management and team management at a head office level with international exposure
- Solid experience in supervising multicultural teams and managing remote teams.

Conditions and terms of application
Contract: Permanent contract
Status: Executive
Working hours: 212 days per year (fixed days)
Desired start date: January 2025 (please indicate your availability)
Salary: between €44,368.20 and €47,316.49 gross per year depending on the profile and according to the CARE salary scale. Benefits: mutual insurance covered 100% by CARE France; meal vouchers with a face value of €9, of which €5 is covered by CARE France; 75% reimbursement of public transport network subscriptions or sustainable mobility package; possibility of partial teleworking from the 3rd week of the contract (package of 40 or 80 days of teleworking in the first year; 120 days from one year of seniority).
Work location : CARE France headquarters, 71 rue Archereau – 75 019 Paris (until the end of December 2024) and Pantin (93500) – RER E Pantin or Hoche metro from January 2025
