About the role of Financial Support and Service Agent

Sightsavers is pleased to recruit a new member of staff for its Sightsavers Country Office in Burkina Faso. The Finance and Support Services Officer provides financial management support for the country office under the direction of the Finance Support and Service Manager.

Knowledge, skills and experience

In collaboration with colleagues, the Finance and Support Services Officer will continuously ensure the quality and consistency of financial management within the country office. He/she will contribute to the development of solutions to financial and support issues, participate in monitoring the management of country resources and identify any risks or issues for the programme manager.

The incumbent will ensure that financial management and risk mitigation are in line with local regulations and the organization’s financial framework by implementing financial controls, planning and budgeting. He/she will lead support services to the country office by managing supply logistics, managing payroll and collaborating with the program and finance teams to review program/project reports, planning and analysis, audit of funds provided and grant management reports.

The successful candidate will have a professional qualification in accounting and a degree (or equivalent) in finance, accounting or a related field. Previous experience in an INGO environment is desirable, and experience in auditing and government organizations is an advantage. A background in financial management is required, as well as budget and data analysis skills, excellent communication skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Fluency in English and French, both oral and written, as well as current and permanent right to work in Burkina Faso are required.

We intend to hold virtual interviews from the week of 16 December. The selection process will include a two-hour written test at the Sightsavers country office in Burkina Faso. Successful candidates at this stage will then be invited to an in-person interview at the national office, lasting a maximum of one (1) hour.
