Contract Duration: approximately 5 months through May 2025 (contingent on funding)

ROLE OR PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Vitamin Angels is seeking an M&E Coordinator to support the Philippines in-country team in conducting monitoring and evaluation activities related, but not limited to, the Transforming Lives through Nutrition project. This includes monitoring visits, data collection, data processing and analysis, reports development, and interpretation of data to inform project and program implementation. The role involves close collaboration with all members of the VA Philippines (PHL) team, regional Asia team and overall VA Monitoring and Evaluation Unit.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The M&E Coordinator will be responsible for the following:

M&E implementation

  • Conduct monitoring visits to program partners and develop feedback reports;
  • Conduct data collection activities related to the Barangay First 1000 Days component of the Transforming Lives Project, including contributing to development of data collection tools and analysis plans;
  • Develop M&E/research plan and methodology for M&E activities of assigned projects;
  • Work with Asia Technical Team and VA Monitoring and Evaluation department and external consultants in all activities related to M&E of the project;
  • Conduct literature reviews to inform the design of new programs, as needed;
  • Support the Country Program Manager to develop and implement research projects;

Data management

  • Support the VA PHL team in designing, managing, and improving monitoring database and data collection tools;
  • Support relevant VA PHL consultants in managing and storing data/documents in systems;
  • Support in synthesizing data for publications, progress reports, and annual reports;

Data dissemination

  • Ensure other consultants can access and appropriately use project data for reports, external communications, etc.
  • Produce high-quality project reports and provide regular updates on progress and challenges
  • Be involved in data dissemination (presenting at workshops/conferences and/or writing abstracts/papers/manuscripts), as needed;

Capacity building and training

  • Support M&E unit to provide related M&E trainings for new consultants, orientation and/or to refresh the knowledge of current consultants, or external consultants/volunteers, as needed;

Other

  • Support logistics, administration, and planning for M&E activities and meetings;

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nutrition, Biostatistics, Public Health, Social Science, Evaluation, or a related field;
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience in leading M&E in large projects, organizations or initiatives in the Philippines ;
  • Substantial work experience with NGOs and government in the Philippines preferred
  • Prior experience with data entry using ODK Collect, other similar software and proficiency in database management a plus;
  • Advanced computer skills, especially MS Office applications, familiarity and mastery of statistical software (e.g. SPSS, Stata, R, etc.) use is preferable;
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment;
  • Ability to manage stress, including but not limited to stress resulting from local travel, large crowds, open spaces, shared office space, and daily activities;
  • Strong planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent analytical, presentation, and reporting skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English;
  • Flexible attitude; ability to prioritize while managing expectations;
  • Honest and trustworthy.
