Roles & Responsibilities
- Data Collection and Management
- Conduct data collection in the pilot areas, focusing on natural resources, environmental conditions, and socioeconomic factors.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive database for program-related data.
- Vulnerability Assessment and Mapping
- Perform vulnerability mapping across Afghanistan to identify areas at risk from environmental, climatic, and socioeconomic pressures.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments to inform targeted interventions and resource allocation.
- Capacity Building
- Assist in the capacity building of academic partners by providing training, resources, and technical guidance.
- Develop tools and materials to support knowledge sharing and enhance the capabilities of local stakeholders.
- Data Analysis and Reporting
- Analyze collected data to generate insights into resource conditions, vulnerabilities, and trends.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations based on data analysis and field findings.
Qualifications and Experience
- Advanced degree in Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Forestry, Agriculture, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in NRM, preferably in mountainous or fragile ecosystems.
- Demonstrated expertise in resource assessment, conservation, and sustainable development practices.
- Familiarity with participatory approaches and community-based resource management.
- Knowledge of climate adaptation, biodiversity conservation, and DRR concepts.
- Proven ability to work in challenging environments and with multidisciplinary teams.

- Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is an asset.
