oga and Sport With Refugees (YSR) was born in October 2017 on the island of Lesvos, Greece, in response to the massive need for healthy safe spaces, the sense of community and a place to work on mental and physical health. In September 2020, we expanded to Athens. Through cooperation with Habibi.Works and KOIZ Centre for Postcolonial Studies, we started Habibi and Sport with Refugees in Ioannina in 2021 and last summer we started our project in Paris. Every day we offer more than 10 different sports activities to approximately 200 people. Our model is unique with over 70 of our past and current coaches coming from a refugee background.
We are looking for a new volunteer coordinator who can commit to at least 6 months, preferably longer, in Athens.
As the volunteer coordinator, you will be responsible for managing the entire volunteer process: recruitment, onboarding, training, overseeing their performance on the ground, ensuring their well-being, and supporting them in their fundraising efforts.

Compensation:
The salary is €1005 gross, in accordance with Greek legislation.
Responsibilities:
- Recruiting new volunteers
- Creating the weekly schedule for volunteers
- Engaging volunteers and discussing their specific responsibilities
- Activating and facilitating the inclusion of women at all levels – student, coach, volunteer
- Planning volunteer tasks
- Reporting and attending weekly meetings with the Yoga and Sports team
- Supporting volunteers with fundraising activities
- Take on additional responsibilities to be defined with the team
Who we are looking for:
- Someone who easily connects with people
- Someone flexible and able to adapt to unexpected situations
- Previous experience in sports and coordination within the humanitarian sector
- An active person who can step in and teach sports when necessary
- Someone able to motivate and energize others
- Someone who knows how to listen to people
- Some experience in people management
- Knowledge of Greek, Farsi, and/οr Arabic is an advantage
