Job Announcement: English Language Instructor
Way of Hope to Life Organization (WHLO)
Location: Istanbul, Turkey for Afghan Students
Position: English Language Instructor (5 Positions)
Contract Type: Full-time, 1-Year contract (renewable based on performance)
Compensation: $400 monthly Pocket Money living allowance, with accommodation and travel costs covered (one return ticket per contract period).
Organization Overview:
Way of Hope to Life Organization (WHLO) is a charitable organization that has been operating since 2002, dedicated to empowering Afghan individuals for a brighter and sustainable future. The organization is establishing an English Language Learning Center in Istanbul to support Afghan migrants, particularly young women deprived of educational opportunities.
We believe that English language proficiency can open doors for Afghans to secure lawful and dignified employment opportunities in Europe and America, reducing their vulnerability to exploitation and human trafficking.
Job Purpose:
Way of Hope to Life is seeking qualified English Language Instructors to join its team. The selected candidates will play a key role in teaching English, focusing on practical skills for students, and contributing to the development of innovative teaching methodologies and curriculum. They will also collaborate with the Program Unit to enhance the overall quality of the organization’s educational programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality English language sessions tailored to the needs of Afghan students.
Focus on professional and practical English skills, ensuring fluency in reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
Plan, manage, and conduct classes in alignment with the organization’s curriculum and activity plans.
Develop and implement innovative teaching methods and techniques suitable for the target audience.
Conduct research and analyze students’ learning needs to continuously improve teaching strategies.
Coordinate with organizational leadership to strengthen the curriculum and teaching approach.
Prepare regular progress reports for the organization, donors, and other stakeholders as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in English Literature or related field with a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience; or Master’s degree in Business Administration with at least 3 year of teaching experience.
n experience in teaching English language and educational project planning.
Strong proficiency in English (reading, writing, listening and speaking); minimum C1.
Ability to design and implement effective teaching strategies tailored to diverse learning needs.
Strong organizational and communication skills with a collaborative approach to teamwork.
