TITLE: CINTALAM Project Assistant

ROLE PURPOSE:
Save the Children will be implementing Creating an INclusive and TrAnsformative youth-Led climate Action Movement (CINTALAM). The overall objective of a three-year project in the Southern most is to enhance resilience, adaption, and mitigation capacity in the three southern border provinces of Thailand to address climate change and environmental degradation. The project will deliver on two of the priorities: 1) enhancing CSOs’ participation in tackling climate change, fighting against climate change scepticism, and raising awareness of the impacts of climate change and global warming for the environment and people’s lives, and 2) enhancing the voice of women and girls and/or youth to better engage in social, economic, and environmental policy-making and implementation.
CINTALAM The Project Assistant will be responsible for supporting the announcement of FSTP and assisting with the partnership assessment and vetting process. CINTALAM Project Assistant will coordinate all project activities at the field level in coordination with project partners, financial support to third parties (FSTP); CSOs, CBOs, youth groups, and local authorities in the region.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Program Implementation:
- Support the Project Coordinator and Project Officer in conducting the FSTP partnership assessment, vetting process, and agreement signing.
- Liaise with local stakeholders (youth groups/networks, government, CSOs, etc.) to ensure the smooth implementation of the project, with support from the Project Officer.
- Support the Project Officer in disseminating information to partners, CBOs, CSOs, youth groups/networks, and communities regarding project issues and available services.
- Work with implementing partners (FSTPs) for effective implementation of the other aspects of the project.
- Support to the Project Officer in the planning and logistics for capacity-building training workshops.
- Assist the Project Officer in ensuring the project is implemented in a manner that is responsive to communities and children, aligning with SC’s principles, values, strategic plan, and procedures.
- Support CINTALAM Project Coordinator with annual planning and review processes.
- Support the Project Officer in preparing all necessary procurement and administrative documents for program implementation.
Planning, Reporting, Monitoring and Learning:
- Support the Project Officer in collecting and compiling project data based on standard formats and submitting regular reports, capturing learning and project indicators, to the CINTALAM Project Coordinator.
- Contribute to the preparation and provide input for CINTALAM Project Coordinator of internal and external reports.
- Participate in team reviews of results and program progress and/or project evaluation when and as requested.
- Provide input for CINTALAM Project Coordinator on budget forecasting and planning.
Collaboration and Representation:
- Represent Save the Children in a professional manner.
- Collaborate with other team members across departments and projects to ensure synergies and consistency in our programming approaches.
- Represent programming with local government, NGOs, communities and within SC as appropriate.
Partnership Management Support
- Support the Project Officer in assisting partners to collate good practices and evidence for showcasing at national and regional levels.
- Support CINTALAM Project Coordinator in make sure that the projects’ partners and FSTP are followed through with SCT standard in logistics, management and finance.
- Assist in provide capacity building and guidance on project and budget management and activity implementation to sub-grantees
- Support the Project Officer in monitoring partners’ performance in accordance with the agreement and as required by Save the Children policies and donor compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Thai Nationality
- University graduated in one of these fields, Environment, Economics, Social Sciences and Climate Chang or related fields.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Essential
- At least 1-3 years’ experience professional experience with related to or Climate Chage Actions.
- Experience implementing high quality training activities with CSOs, CBOs, Youth Groups, preferably related to organizational development.
- Demonstrated commitment to sustainable development approach.
- Strong understanding of the Deep south contextual situation related to Climate Change solutions.
- Experience in integrating Gender into project/program
- Ability to travel to the remote locations and work long hours at times.
- Fluency in Patani-Malay and Thai language required
- Strong interpersonal skills the ability to work collaboratively with others
- Sound knowledge of office practices, procedures and administrative systems including filing systems. Competent in use of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Demonstrates strong mentoring and coaching skills for subgrantees.
Desirable
- English language skills
- Experience in youth led initiative, Child participation & Child Right principles.
- Background in Emergency programming/communities-based approach is an asset.
- Experience working in an international development organization is an asset.
- Flexibility to adapt and Ability to relate well to a diverse range of cultures, and to work effectively as part of local, national and international team.
