ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is the humanitarian organization that saves and changes lives, providing food assistance in emergencies and working with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience.

For its efforts to combat hunger, its contribution to improving peace conditions in conflict-affected areas and acting as a driving force in efforts to prevent the use of hunger as a weapon of war and conflict, WFP was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2020.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Carry out standard operational support processes in the HR area, in order to facilitate the effective delivery of services.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES (indicative and non-exhaustive list)

1. Gather information clearly intended to serve as a basis for the drafting of documents and the preparation of reports by other staff members.

2. Respond to queries and forward them, where appropriate, to higher levels, in order to provide timely and correct service to customers.

3. Provide support for the processing and management of routine administrative tasks in various functional areas, to contribute to the effective and timely management of resources.

4. Maintain established standard systems and files to ensure that information is accurate and readily available for the function in question.

5. Ensure data integrity to facilitate the availability of accurate information in institutional systems.

6. Work with a wide variety of people, gathering feedback where appropriate, to assist in providing operational support to staff.

OTHER POSITION REQUIREMENTS

1. Provide assistance in HR processes such as recruitment, selection and onboarding, ensuring compliance with the organization’s policies.

2. Liaise with other internal departments or offices on matters related to human resources (such as contracts, benefits, etc.), and provide the necessary information so that HR services can be provided in a timely manner.

3. Extract and compile data across all HR processes to support analysis and reporting needs.

4. Provide administrative support in HR activities in the different assigned areas, including the reception of new staff members in accordance with relevant processes and procedures.

5. Maintain confidentiality of personnel records, manage databases and files appropriately, to ensure that they are stored accurately and updated in accordance with established standards.

6. Other tasks as required.

MINIMUM STANDARD EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Training: Completion of secondary education. Additional studies in the area of ​​HR will be highly valued.

Experience: Minimum of four years of professional experience with increasing responsibilities in related areas (selection, personnel administration, human resources services, payroll administration, recruitment aspects and interview management).

Desirable: Experience in HR and knowledge of policies, operational procedures, practices and regulations of the United Nations system.

Knowledge and Skills:

Competence in the use of office equipment and computer packages, such as Microsoft Word.

Languages: Fluent in Spanish. Intermediate English level (B1).

Contract Type: SC-4 Service Contract

Workplace: Quito, Ecuador

Contract duration: 12 months with the possibility of extension according to organizational needs.

The vacant position is open to Ecuadorian citizens and foreigners with a work permit in Ecuador.
