The Deputy Head of the Health Department ensures the technical coordination of the cross-cutting health activities for which he is responsible: pharmacy, mental health, gender and WASH, providing his technical know-how which is essential to the design and implementation of projects carried out internationally.
He ensures the quality, relevance and consistency of technical interventions, in close collaboration with the department head.
The Deputy Manager ensures compliance with international standards and regulations in the health field. He/she co-leads the department by ensuring the quality of the technical support provided by the teams and by collaborating closely with them to guarantee that the methodologies used meet international best practices and are adapted to the needs of specific intervention contexts.
In support of the department head, he/she helps define strategic directions in mental health, medical responses to emergencies and gender and ensures the continuity of management activities in his/her absence. The deputy manager plays a central role in identifying opportunities for developing new technical approaches, consolidating technical partnerships, as well as managing technical relations with the Red Cross Movement and external partners. He/she also ensures technical coordination, with the relevant referents, in support of emergency operations carried out by the CRF.

Mission 1 Strategic management
Participate in defining strategic health guidelines and manage their implementation.
Ensure the management of the strategic health framework in line with the department’s objectives.
Develop standards and reference frameworks to strengthen the quality of interventions.
Contribute to the development of research activities with different Universities (EHESP, ISPED etc.), the CRF Foundation and ensure the integration of research approaches into dedicated activities.
Mission 2 Coordination of technical productions
Manage the technical production of the department (framework, tools, training) to meet the needs of health coordinators in the field.
Guarantee the quality of technical productions, ensuring their relevance to operational needs and international standards.
Ensures the quality of technical support from CRF operations representatives.
Mission 3 Department management and skills development
Participate in the animation of the department and ensure team cohesion.
Supervise the technical support of technical referents (validation of missions and prioritization).
Ensure the development of technical skills of team members through training and mentoring.
Encourage the personal and professional development of team members by identifying continuing education opportunities.
Set up feedback sessions to promote collective learning.
Mission 4 Monitoring, representation and development of partnerships
Ensure technical and scientific monitoring in relation to health issues.
Ensure the representation of the department with the Red Cross Movement and international partners.
Participate in thematic working groups at the international level and represent the department at conferences, forums and meetings with technical and scientific partners.
Develop strong relationships with external partners to strengthen the department’s recognition within the humanitarian community.
Develop technical and innovative partnerships.

Doctor of medicine or graduate of medical training , you have additional training in public health.
Your expertise in managing development projects in an emergency context in the health sector, and your mastery of project cycle management will enable you to act effectively.
You have a thorough knowledge of international health standards and regulations and actively participate in the dissemination of good practices.
You have a perfect command of English and demonstrate adaptability and kindness in a demanding environment.
