The association
Created in 1980 by Sister Emmanuelle to provide protection and education to the most vulnerable children in the world, Asmae is an independent and secular association recognized as being of public utility. Present in 8 countries: Egypt, Lebanon, Philippines, India, Madagascar, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast and France, Asmae supports local actors while also acting at the institutional level. The teams of Asmae – Association Sœur Emmanuelle, in France and internationally, continue its action in accordance with the values and methods inherited from its founder: listening and proximity, pragmatism, taking into account differences, professionalism and reciprocity.
The field accounting officer will join the Headquarters Finance department, which is made up of five people. Reporting to the Administrative and Financial Manager (RAF) of the headquarters, he/she will carry out his/her mission in close collaboration with the financial controller, the headquarter accountant and the RAFs of the country offices. He/she has a role as a referent for the volunteers attached to his/her activity.
His main responsibilities are as follows:
-Integrate the accounting of our country offices into the head office accounting software
-Support the headquarters teams, firstly the International Action management, the Country Representatives and RAF in the field in their accounting monitoring
-Support the RAF and the financial controller during contractual audits of projects
-Ensure accounting compliance of its scope during closings and closures
-Participate in internal control and service priorities
Your future missions
- Bookkeeping
For countries of intervention (80%):
-Control and integrate the accounts of the country offices, ensuring their regular submission between the 10th and 15th of each month
– Allocate headquarters expenses to country offices and oversee their integration into field accounting. Integrate headquarters salaries and expenses into field accounting after their allocation by the financial controller
-Supervise the volunteers who check the supporting documents sent by the Offices in our countries of intervention
– In cooperation with the financial controller, point out the cash requests from the country offices, validate the transfers and record them in SAGE
– Provide technical support to national offices in the use of the SAGA accounting tool, and possibly in Excel
For head office services (20%):
-Enter and control the accounting relating to its scope under Sage 1000
-Check bank reconciliations, cash inventories, accounting allocations, advance and debt situations, country account reconciliation
-Ensure data consistency between different tools (field/head office accounting, etc.)
-Creation of new analytical codes, accounting journals and bank accounts on SAGE
– Carry out reconciliation work on head office salary accounting codes
-Import analytical and accounting salaries
- Support from headquarters teams, representatives and administrative and financial managers of our country offices in accounting monitoring
-Prepare periodic monitoring points for RAF Headquarters by updating the dashboards
-Ensure the proper integration of budgets into the SAGAs dedicated to countries
-Continuously update SAGA settings in consultation with the financial controller
-Provide direct support to country offices during support missions, when necessary
- Participation in internal control and service priorities
-Participate in the development and implementation of administrative and financial procedures and ensure their application in the countries of intervention
-Assist the department in its preparation of internal audit missions for the purpose of improving local accounting and better financial control of partners
-Participate in service emergencies in the event of peak activity or absence
-Support the head office accountant if necessary.
Required profile
Training / Knowledge
– Minimum Bac+2 training, ideally BTS or DUT in accounting.
– Mastery and practice of general accounting, good understanding of analytical accounting. Good knowledge of the French and associative accounting plan
-Fluent level of English in a professional context, excellent command of Excel and practice of management information systems
-Knowledge of SAGE 1000 (head office) and SAGA (field) software would be an asset
Experience
-2 to 3 years of minimum experience in an equivalent position
-At least 2 years of experience in a similar position in an international solidarity NGO with experience in public funding is a plus
Qualities
-Rigor, transparency and pedagogy. Interest in issues relating to international solidarity and child protection
-Ability to adapt, including in an intercultural environment, patience and diplomacy

-Remuneration : 31-34K€ gross annual
-Social benefits: Meal vouchers with a face value of €10 (60% of which is covered by Asmae), sustainable mobility package or reimbursement of up to 50% of subscriptions to the public transport network, maximum 3 days of teleworking per week according to the charter
-Work location: Position based in Montreuil (93)
