About Us:
Lutheran World Federation Ethiopia is dedicated to building resilience and transforming lives. We are currently seeking qualified professionals to join our team for the Feasibility Study and Design of Telef Small Scale Irrigation Scheme. This initiative is part of our Climate Resilient Livelihood Project, funded by Australian Lutheran World Service, aimed at improving irrigation infrastructure and enhancing food security for local communities.

Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Irrigation/Hydraulic Engineer to lead the feasibility study and design of the Telef Small Scale Irrigation Scheme. The selected candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive research, designing climate-resilient irrigation infrastructure, and ensuring sustainable water management practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a detailed feasibility study and develop an engineering design for the irrigation scheme.
  • Develop climate-resilient infrastructure solutions, including technical specifications.
  • Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ), cost estimates, and implementation plans.
  • Conduct hydrological, geological, geotechnical, and sediment analyses.
  • Develop operation and maintenance guidelines for the irrigation system.
  • Assess risks and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare comprehensive feasibility reports, site maps, and high-resolution design drawings.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Irrigation Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in feasibility studies and irrigation scheme design.
  • Strong background in water supply, environmental engineering, and hydrology.
  • Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, GIS, hydraulic modeling tools).
  • Experience working on projects of at least 30 hectares in scale.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • Who can bring legal business license for the job
