CONTEXT:
HI has been operating in the Democratic Republic of Congo since 1995 in many sectors and is a recognized player in humanitarian assistance and logistics.
- In Kinshasa, multi-year development projects are being implemented on the themes of Physical and Functional Rehabilitation, Maternal and Child Health, and Inclusive Education.
- In Kasai and Kasai Centrale, initially engaged in development activities, HI has intervened since the 2016 crisis on Food Security projects (Cash method then in support of agricultural production) and is currently involved in an inclusive education project.
In North Kivu, to date, the Goma base is implementing 6 projects:
- Two mobile clinic projects in Mental Health and Psychosocial Support with a rehabilitation component,
- A road rehabilitation project in Mweso;
- A project in the area of community protection, emergency response in mental health and distribution of kits in Mweso;
- A Logistics and Storage Platform project offering a service to humanitarian actors;
- An integrated rehabilitation project with stimulation therapy in Mweso health zone
YOUR MISSION:
Reporting to the Country Director, you are responsible for monitoring the proper implementation of preventive procedures enabling HI to avoid exposing itself to risks linked to non-compliance with its internal rules, regulations applicable to the context of intervention or contractual commitments.
Your scope of intervention covers all activities (projects and shared services) and all sites (main office and bases).
- You ensure the promotion and compliance with the requirements contained in HI’s institutional policies and guidelines, procedures, applicable regulations and contracts. To this end, you regularly carry out checks and controls in the field, with all HI staff, and within partner associations or in conjunction with suppliers.
- You support and advise management lines in the implementation of an internal control system consistent with the guidelines defined for the Risk and Compliance professions.
- You are linked to the role of external program and headquarters audit manager as part of the continuous improvement of processes.
- You are the Focal Point for the fight against fraud and corruption, and you ensure that all HI staff, partners, suppliers and beneficiaries are aware of the policies and the functioning of the reporting mechanisms for internal reports/alerts.
SPECIFICITIES/PARTICULARITIES OF THE POSITION:
The position is based full-time in Kinshasa, where the context is relatively stable, with comfortable living conditions and the presence of a large expatriate community.
YOUR PROFILE:
- You have at least 3 years of experience in an audit firm or an international organization as an audit manager, internal controller or auditor
- You have mastered the frameworks and processes of internal control, risk management and the fight against fraud and corruption.
- You have excellent communication and team support skills
- You are rigorous

- 6-month international contract ideally starting March 15, 2025;
- The international contract provides social coverage adapted to everyone’s needs:
- Unemployment insurance collected only for EU nationals;
- Retirement insurance;
- Health coverage, repatriation, and welfare covered by HI and the employee;
- Salary : from €2,757 gross/month;
- Per diem : €962.30 net/month – paid in local currency in the field;
- Paid leave : 25 days per year;
- R&R : depending on the level of the mission: 1 day per + possible transport/package support;
- Position: Unaccompanied
- Accommodation: Collective supported by HI.
