Online Marketing
Does your heart beat faster for children’s rights and online marketing? Do you like innovation instead of guarding the status quo? Are you a team player, hands on and can you connect our target groups with the work of Terre des Hommes in a creative way? Do you get excited by terms such as SEA, Social campaigns, analytics, conversion optimization, e-mail marketing, customer/donor journeys, A/B testing and are you result-oriented?
Then we have a challenging position for you! As of April 1st, we are looking for an independent and results-oriented Online Marketeer (32-36 hours/week) for our private fundraising department (8 people). Experience in the non-profit sector is a plus, but not a must. As long as you understand the dynamics of a non-profit organization.
We challenge you to help us get more results from our online channels. You are responsible for, among other things, bringing in new potential donors through lead generation, and contributing to additional income from the supporters through marketing automation journeys. In addition, there are still many opportunities to seize. You will help us take our online fundraising to the next level.
What are you going to do..
As an Online Marketeer, you are responsible for developing and executing an impactful online marketing strategy. You focus on activation, conversion optimization and online fundraising. Your tasks are varied and dynamic:
- You will actively seek new donors by developing targeted online campaigns that align with our mission and target group. With your creativity and strategic insight, you will inspire and motivate them to contribute to our goals.
- You work with agencies to execute and optimize online campaigns on search engines and social media.
- You analyze the traffic and conversion of these online campaigns and donor journeys and translate these insights into concrete improvements.
- You continuously work on the conversion optimization of our website to improve the user experience and results.
- You manage and optimize our lead and donation forms.
- You contribute to the development and implementation of an effective email marketing strategy.
- You translate trends and developments in the market into new applications in the field of online marketing and activation for our organization.
- You act as a sparring partner for an enthusiastic team of professionals in the field of communication, marketing and fundraising and work together on various projects.
- You are part of our web care team and monitor responses on our social media channels.
The ideal candidate will bring the following expertise and skills
- a completed (online) marketing-related HBO/WO education;
- at least 2-3 years of demonstrable experience in online marketing;
- demonstrable experience with Google Analytics;
- demonstrable experience with online advertising;
- you are results-oriented and like to work with targets;
- you work in a structured manner and can manage several projects simultaneously;
- you work data-driven and are at home in tools such as Google Analytics, Marketing Cloud, Hotjar, VWO, Excel, Google Spreadsheets, PowerBI or Looker Studio
- you have experience in developing test plans
- you are able to think from a target group perspective and have experience in developing online customer journeys;
- Experience with Marketing Cloud and Salesforce is a plus
- experience with an NGO or social organization is an advantage;
- you have strong communication skills and can create good support;
- You have an excellent command of Dutch and English.

- A 1-year contract with the intention to subsequently extend it to a permanent contract.
- The salary scale for this position is scale 10 and depending on experience between €3,737.77 – €4,821.39 gross per month based on a full-time (36 hours) position.
- We offer a 36-hour contract, which in our organization is equivalent to a full-time workweek. The advantage of this is that you can work 4 x 9 and have one day off per week while still having a full-time contract. You can divide the hours over the week as you prefer, in consultation with your manager;
- We work hybrid, so 50% in the office and 50% at home. We are quite flexible and have an eye for your work-life balance;
- An office in the thriving heart of The Hague, city of international human rights and political capital.
- 25 days of paid leave per year based on full-time employment, with part-time days paid pro rata;
- We offer a commuting allowance for the kilometers you travel by bike or provide an NS card;
- Our pension plan is hosted by ASR and Terre des Hommes contributes the majority of the pension contribution.
- Our new employees receive a one-time financial compensation for the purchase or furnishing of an ergonomic home workplace. We are happy to tell you more about this if applicable.
