HALO’s Syria Program: HALO’s program in Syria was established in 2016 and is coordinated from offices in Amman, Jordan, and Syria. HALO conducts its projects in Syria through national NGO partners and a HALO Field Office in Kelli, Idleb. Current projects in Syria include Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), Non-Technical Survey (NTS), and Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE).

Job Description and Requirements:

The Logistics Assistant supports HALO Syria at both the office and field level. Working with all business functions supporting clearance operations.

The Logistics Assistant will support the Logistics Officer, Administrator and Location Manager(s) acting as a focal point.

  • Logistics Management including storekeeping;
  • Market surveys and procurement;
  • Transport and movement of people and equipment;
  • Maintaining a working Fleet;
  • Basic finance support.
  • Arranging maintenance tasks for the guesthouse (GH) and office
  • Handling the payment of utilities for the office and Guest House
  • Creating weekly and monthly purchase orders for the international staff’s food and other essential needs
  • Maintaining an inventory of office supplies and placing orders as needed
  • Preparing contracts and processing payments for suppliers such as water, hotel, food, handyman, and cleaner services.
  • Assisting the Logistics Officer with their duties;
  • Transporting goods and personnel, ensuring correct transfer of goods between location stores;
  • Storekeeping: Recording items entering or leaving stores;
  • Conducting weekly stock checks of capital equipment in location stores;
  • Keeping track of assigned equipment;
  • Inform when certain stocks are running low;
  • Support / lead procurement when tasked;
  • Reporting any equipment faults;
  • Assist with other duties as requested.

Job Description and Requirements:

The Logistics Assistant supports Hello Syria at the office and site level.

Works with all departments to support removals.

The Logistics Assistant will support the Logistics Officer, Administrative Manager and Site Manager(s), and act as a liaison.

• Logistics management including warehousing

• Market survey and purchase

• Transport and movement of people and equipment;

• Maintaining a fleet of work vehicles;

• Basic support to the accounting department;

• Arranging maintenance tasks for the guest house and office;

•Handling utility bill payments for the office and guest house;

• Create weekly and monthly purchase orders for food and other international staff needs;

• Maintain inventory of office supplies and order items as needed;

• Preparing contracts and processing payments for suppliers such as water, hotel, food, and services such as maintenance and cleaning.

Assist the logistics officer in performing his duties;

• Transporting goods and people, ensuring the correct transfer of goods between site warehouses;

• Storage: Recording items entering and leaving warehouses;

• Conduct weekly inventory checks of major equipment in site warehouses;

• Follow up on the equipment assigned to individuals and teams;

• Notification when some stocks are low;

• Support/lead purchasing operations when assigned;

• Report any equipment malfunctions;

• Assist with other tasks as requested.

Requirements

Requirements for a HALO Logistics Assistance are as follows:

Essential:

  • Diploma from an institute in Logistics Management or Business, or equivalent experience.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • No previous association with illegal groups.
  • Proficiency in speaking and writing English (Preferred not Essential)

The requirements for a Halo Trust Logistics Assistant are:

Basics:

  • Diploma in Logistics Management or Business or equivalent experience
  • Valid driving license
  • The logistic assistant must not have any previous affiliation with illegal groups.
  • Proficiency in speaking and writing English (preferred but not required).
