CHALLENGES
Placed within the Technical Directorate under the supervision of the Rights and Sexual Health Officer, the Regional Officer will be responsible, in close collaboration with the country teams, for ensuring the quality of the interventions developed and implemented on projects related to his/her areas of expertise and for contributing to the capitalization and promotion of these interventions. He/she will be directly responsible for implementing capacity building actions in SRH within the framework of the TRANSITION II project in Benin.
SPECIFIC MISSIONS
In order to carry out his/her mission, the DSSR Referent:
- Participates in the association’s strategic thinking : contributes to technical monitoring, particularly on issues of sexual and reproductive health of adolescents and young people (SSRAJ) and participates in the association’s overall strategic thinking on SRHR
- Support for the implementation of SRHR projects and technical assistance : Develops and implements capacity building activities in SRHR in Benin as part of the TRANSITION II project, of which Solthis is a partner. In Côte d’Ivoire and Niger, supports medical teams, supports diagnostics on the provision of services and on the needs of users as well as the implementation of interventions deployed in SRHR projects, particularly SRHR projects.
- Participates in the production and promotion of knowledge: in conjunction with the DSSR referent, participates in the reflection on the research component in the field of DSSR; proposes, writes, organizes and monitors targeted research and capitalization actions in partnership with the Solthis teams in Côte d’Ivoire and Niger and national partners and participates in events and conferences in his/her field of expertise
- Participates in Project Development: participates in the development of the development strategy and monitoring of financing opportunities on the DSSR theme, particularly in Benin, Ivory Coast and Niger
- Contribute to developing the sub-regional network of experts and technical partners: contributes at the sub-regional level to representing Solthis with other organizations in its field of expertise and participates in the association’s communication and advocacy actions in its field
REQUIRED PROFILE
Holder of a medical or paramedical diploma (midwife, doctor, nurse). Additional training in Public Health and expertise in Gender would be appreciated.
At least 3 years of experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of SSR projects, particularly SRHR in resource-limited countries (experience in West Africa)
Qualities & Skills:
For this position, we are looking for an expert in Sexual and Reproductive Health who masters the issues of access and quality of care, intervention strategies, quality indicators, particularly on the provision of services and the strengthening of health systems. A good knowledge of feminist approaches applied to SRH care, inclusive care and empowerment approaches in health will be particularly appreciated.
You have a taste for teamwork and are concerned about an approach to improving quality within healthcare structures.
You are recognized for your capacity for representation, dialogue and advocacy.
Language: French, English would be a plus
REMUNERATION
Salary: Positioning on our internal salary scale based on experience in a similar position.
