Action Against Hunger is an international, non-governmental, private, non-political, non-denominational and non-profit humanitarian organization. Founded in 1979 to intervene worldwide, its mission is to fight hunger, poverty and dangerous situations threatening men, women and children. Currently, 500 collaborators and more than 5,000 employees work for Action Against Hunger in more than forty-six countries, and in four areas of action: health / nutrition, food security and livelihoods, and water / sanitation.

We have been present in Niger since 1997 and we currently operate in the regions of Diffa, Maradi, Tahoua and Tillabery with a Coordination office in Niamey.

GENERAL OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:

The logistics coordinator is responsible for coordinating and monitoring each logistics process on the mission. His/her main mission is to facilitate the link with other departments in the implementation of activities. He/she contributes to defining the logistics strategy of the mission in collaboration with the Country Director and the logistics referent at headquarters. OBJECTIVES AND SPECIFIC TASKS:

Objective 1: Ensure better logistical management of the mission.

Objective 2: Supervision, training, support and technical evaluation (in connection with the DP) of logisticians in capital and on the bases.

Objective 3: Compilation and analysis of Monthly Logistics Reports (MLR) and their transmission to headquarters via NHF

Objective 4: Ensure that logistics needs are taken into account in new budget proposals for

Do you match the profile we are looking for?

Training: Bac + 5 in logistics and transport management or related fields

Specific technical knowledge:

  • Knowledge of landlord rules
  • Security management
  • Knowledge of humanitarian logistics management
  • Managing a logistics team

Experience (years): At least 10 years of experience in the field of logistics management with at least 5 years in an equivalent position with at least 2 international experiences.

Knowledge of the organization : Knowledge of Action Against Hunger’s areas of intervention and standard documents

LANGUAGES :

Fluent French,

English proficiency

Spanish would be an asset

Information systems : Office Pack, Outlook

Mobility (national/international) : Regular travel to bases, within the country. Occasional travel abroad
