The Opportunity
The Senior Manager-Nutrition will be reporting to the Director-Health, Nutrition and HIV/AIDS Sector and will be responsible for leading Nutrition team and activities for Rohingya population in camps and host work. S/he will provide clear strategic direction for designing and implementation of Save the Children’s Nutrition program in Cox’s Bazar, working closely with the other Senior Program Manager and cross-cutting Departments, e.g. Gender, MEAL, Field Coordination to ensure an integrated programmatic response. S/he will also lead development of the nutrition program response strategy in line with Save the Children RR Strategy, Nutrition Sector Strategy and other relevant national strategies and monitoring. The Senior Manager will assist on proposal development, manage all nutrition grants ensuring program funding spend in line with Save the Children policies, procedures and donor requirements and ensuring donor compliance is also a critical element of this role. S/he will also involve representation of the organisation in various forums including Nutrition Sector, Technical Working Groups, and other high level related government forum in Cox’s Bazar.
Qualifications and experience
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant field experience, including 3 years in management position, preferably in managing emergency Nutrition programme.
- Proven track record of success on nutrition programming in humanitarian settings, including CMAM and/or IYCF-E and C-MAMI
- Sound knowledge on the Bangladesh health system; experience in working with UN and other stakeholders in both development and emergency setting
- Substantial experience of humanitarian nutrition management including strong knowledge of nutrition sector/cluster and humanitarian architecture and systems
- Experience of undertaking representational duties with UNICEF, WFP, UNHCR, donors and partners and ministries of health at project and country level
- Experience of managing multiple grants and budgets.
- Substantial experience of creating, planning and managing budgets.
- Good understanding of the essential principles and reality of emergency supply chain operations
- Excellent proposal development and donor report writing skills
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Excellent leadership skills and experience in managing teams
- Good in written and spoken skills in English
- Master’s Degree, preferably in Nutrition and/or Public Health
Contract length: Up to December 2021, with high possibility of further extension
