Finance Assistant At Save the Children

Finance Assistant (Only South Sudanese to apply for this position): (Kapoeta & Torit) Two position.

He/she will provide clerical support to the finance department by ensuring that records on payments, registers and balances of different books maintained are updated, she/he will do Preparation of cash and bank payments and ensure payments are fully supported and properly authorized before payments are done. She will do Filing and documentation to ensure that invoices are properly recorded once received from operations and all proper filing of documents, stamped paid, well labelled and ensure hard copies are sent to Juba at the end of the month, the candidate shall Maintain the purchase order register, cheque register and keep accrual tracker to ensure payments are not of Bank Balances to Maintain and update cash balances on daily Establish re-order levels for each bank and advice, the Finance officer once the balances reach the re-order level Maintenance of the float register She/he also Maintain and update the float register Reconcile the float register with the system balance on daily and monthly basis and ensure cash counts are signed off by the relevant personnel to ensure float policy is adhered.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Professional qualifications in Accounting: -CPA I or Diploma in Accounting.
  • At least three year’s INGOs experience
  • Strong computer skills, especially on Accounting packages
  • Good in Excel
  • Ability and willingness to work under pressure as part of a professional team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including cultural sensitivity, assertiveness and negotiating skills.
  • Willingness to travel to field offices occasionally**.**

Contract Duration: 4 Months

Location: South Sudan, Kapoeta Field Office (1) and Torit Filed Office (1)
