Supply Chain Officer At Save the Children

Supply Chain Officer National Contract (Only South Sudanese to apply for this position): (1Post_Kapoeta)

The Procurement Officer is accountable for the timely and efficient procurement of goods and supplies in accordance with timescales set and agreed with programme staff and SCI systems, polices, and procedures. She/he will be responsible for undertaking the responsibilities of operational procurement and supply chain, manage preparation of Procurement process in all steps and stages, especially when it comes to purchase orders and contracts. Advise on best sources of supply in coordination with the Program and Finance. Verify purchase requests ensuring all required information is provided. Process Purchase Requests using pre-established FWAs and Pre-Qualified Supplier (PQS) lists and carry out comparative bid analysis, Procurement committees and PO processes. She/he will ensure that items procured match programmatic requests and are of good quality and value for money.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • University degree in purchasing and logistics and supplies management or other relevant field of study
  • At least 4 years of experience working in supplies and service procurement, logistics co-ordination and Administrative support functions on NGOs.
  • Good interpersonal skills,
  • Good written and spoken English
  • Knowledge of computer word processing, access and excel
  • Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles.
  • Knowledge of key institutional donors and their compliance requirements in respect of logistics and procurement
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching.
  • Commitment to Save the Children values.
  • Ability and willingness to change work practices and hours in the event of major emergencies including travelling at short notice and for extended periods of time
  • A high level of computer literacy (word, excel, PPT etc.)

Contract Duration: 4 Months

Location: South Sudan, Kapoeta Field Office
