The starting salary package for this position is £50,736 GBP / approx. $70,802 USD including all allowances**

About the Syria Response programme:

MAG has been responding to the Syria crisis since 2013 working to support the development from conflict by finding and destroying the explosive remnants of war, so that communities can raise their families and pursue their livelihoods in a safe and secure environment, free from fear of death or injury.

About the role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating, maintaining and repairing mechanical assets with associated spares within MAG’s Syria Response projects as required. They will also be required to develop maintenance schedules in keeping with MAG’s operational requirements and ensure/oversee their implementation. The Mechanical Technician will also assist in designing, developing, delivering and evaluating the appropriate training programmes for the use of mechanical assets, including day to day training and monitoring of national staff in conducting repair and maintenance of machinery.

About you:

You will have experience in operating, maintaining and repairing multiple mechanical assets across different locations within a developing country, preferably within the Humanitarian Mine Action sector. Experience of working in a fast paced environment with the ability to coordinate and prioritise in order to meet deadlines. You will need fluent English language skills and be able to work in a challenging and politically sensitive environment.
