UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is offering an Associate E-Commerce Officer (Digital Product Development) – individual contractor position within the Digital Engagement Section with Private Sector Partnerships Service (PSP).

Organizational Context

The Digital Engagement Section (DES) has designed a long-term scalable digital solution to streamline the different functions of fundraising across all PSP markets contributing to UNHCR’s strategy to raise US$1 billion from the private sector each year by 2025. The solution aims to optimize acquisition, engagement, and retention programs, as well as facilitate donor relation management and communication.

The solution offers a fully integrated digital ecosystem combining a set of tools and platforms delivering a harmonized environment to ensure efficiency of operations, avoid replicating cost and efforts to develop local solutions with similar functions.

This assignment will particularly be focused on multiple development projects of the global ecommerce platform, for digital fundraising capturing donations via multiple payment processors/gateways, sending/receiving donors’ data to the central donor relationship management database Salesforce, communicating with donors regarding their donations, managing donations and optimizing the donor’s journey to ensure maximum conversion.

These projects are planned for an initial 3 years.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Manage the launch of various development projects of the Drupal E-Commerce Platform
  • Define, design, implement, and manage digital product development according to requirements of all stakeholders in DES and PSP Offices.
  • Create documentation and provide guidance to developers and project managers to implement proposed solutions; this includes specifications writing.
  • Make sure that prioritization is done correctly and that the product development phases are coordinated with all the upcoming projects and organization’s priorities.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, designers, testers, and stakeholders.
  • Conduct research, experiments, and user interviews to test, prove or disprove design solutions/hypothesis
  • Maintain relationship with vendors & service providers, monitor contracts and expenditures
  • Define, execute, and prioritize a multi-market conversion optimization roadmap.
  • Design and conduct experiments to validate quantitative and qualitative hypotheses, through onsite testing.
  • Analyse the results of test and provide data driven recommendations for page design, donor’s journey, and further research.
  • Improve and innovate the donor’s journey to optimize the conversion rate, User Interface design and ensure excellent donation experience.
  • Measure and report performance of site KPI’s and assess against key business goals.
  • Support in gaining donor’s feedback, propose usage of user experience research techniques, methods, and tools to help understand and act upon donors’ opinions, behaviour and experiences.
  • Build and promote a data-driven evidence-based culture of experimentation among PSP Offices and Digital Engagement Section (design and conduct trainings, share best practice and case studies)

Essential minimum qualifications and professional experience required

The ideal candidate will possess the qualifications and experience listed below.

Education:

Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electronic Business, Digital Marketing & Data Analytics, or relevant field.

Work Experience:

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree / 2 years of relevant experience with a master’s degree.

Location

This is a home-based position. The working hours will depend on the location of the selected candidate.

Conditions

This position is a full-time role from October 2021 until December 2021 (with a possibility of extension for the full year 2022). The projects have been planned for an initial 3 years. The remuneration level and the applicable entitlements and benefits may be different based on the residence of the most suitable selected candidate.
