The IRC has operated in Syria since 2012, providing protection, health, economic recovery, and early childhood development programs in Idleb, Aleppo, Ar-Raqqa, Hassakeh, and Deir ez-Zor, with new programs expanding into Hama, rural Damascus, and Homs. With a team of over 350 members, the IRC has established trust and strong community relationships, ensuring access and effective service delivery.
Our longstanding experience in the country to date provides a strong foundation for the IRC to further adapt and expand its programming across Syria, in order to respond to the new realities, with a greater focus on resilience and recovery initiatives. Alongside this, the IRC also It plays a significant role in Syria’s NGO, donor, and coordination forums, holding key positions and actively engaging in advocacy efforts.
Job Overview/Summary:
The Budgeting and Reporting Officer is responsible for coordinating the budgeting process, monitoring budget implementation, and preparing timely and accurate financial reports. This role supports financial planning and decision-making by ensuring that financial data is well-analyzed, reliable, and aligned with organizational goals and donor requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Review budget spending and advise relevant staff on spending status. Requests feedback on all over/under spending.
- Prepare monthly Budget versus Actual (BvA) reports for Syria grants and distributes on time.
- Prepare for any new proposal development and budget modification, Realignment
- Prepare and updates spending plans for all active grants in conjunction with designated budget holders.
- Participate in monthly Grant Review Meetings (GRMs) and presents spending status. Follows-up on action points identified during the meetings.
- Attend and provide support to all Grant Opening, Grant Review, and Grant Closing Meetings.
- Prepare new budget line coding (D2 codes) for each new grant and updates in Integra system.
- Upload budgets to Integra system when required and follow up with budget holders on any support needed in creating codes in the system.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal reviews
Required Experience/qualification/Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel and financial software (ERP systems).
- Previous experience with various donors financial policies and guidelines including USAID, Europe Aid, Sida, CIDA, UNICEF, UNHCR, ECHO,GFFO and other institutional donors
