SAVE THE CHILDREN INTERNACIONAL (SCI), a non-profit humanitarian organization with focus on child well-being, is recruiting candidates for the position mentioned below:
- Deputy Chief of Party – Technical – Quelimane – ZA– SC 58/23 (Zambézia)
The Deputy Chief of Party – Technical (DCOP) will ensure technical quality and integration across sectors for the five-year USAID/BHA funded Resilience Food Security Activity (Okhokelamo ni Solha) in Zambezia Province of Mozambique. The role holder provides senior leadership to the overall program for the Okhokelamo ni Solha project, with direct accountability to the Chief of Party (COP) and the Country Office (CO) Director of Program Development and Quality. Okhokelamo ni Solha project aims to improve nutrition outcomes for children under the age of two in Zambezia Livelihood Zone 5, which will be achieved in part through the import and distribution of specialized nutritious foods.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in a relevant field-based program management experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least seven years of relevant field-based experience.
Experience and Skills
Essential
- At least 7 years of relevant field-based experience;
- Experience of working in remote field bases with limited infrastructure;
- Ability to synthesize and analyses information, and make clear, informed decisions;
- Ability to build relationships quickly with a wide range of people, both internally and externally;
- Strong planning, management and coordination skills, with the ability to organise a substantial workload comprised of complex, diverse tasks and responsibilities;
- Understanding of the political, social and cultural context of Mozambique preferred, with specific experience in Zambezia Province;
- Strong written and spoken communication and interpersonal skills in English and Portuguese;
- Knowledge of local languages is an asset;
