RESPONSIBILITIES
As Country Director you are responsible for providing the overall leadership and strategic guidance of the Country Office. More specifically you will :
Oversee mission’s programming to ensure the effective and efficient design, implementation and evaluation of ACF’s programs and projects
Lead the update and implementation of the Country strategy
Develop and enhance relationships between the mission and donors’ representatives, civil society, private sector, government agencies and other organizations, acknowledging diversity as an asset of the humanitarian community, so that ACF can maximize its impact on malnutrition and its prevention.
Be responsible for the security management of staff, operations, assets and direct country-specific response to security threats and incidents, up to and including management of evacuation
Oversee the management and development of mission’s human resources and create a shared vision, among all staff, of ACF’s values and program’s aims and their role in achieving these
The position is based in Sana’a with regular field visit to Aden.
REQUESTED PROFILE
You have about 7 years of humanitarian or development experience with experience in an open conflict country on a senior management role. You show advanced leadership and project management skills. You demonstrate knowledge of best practices in country team and performance management. You perform in organizational and interpersonal skills. You perform well in coordinating all Departments. You show excellent knowledge and understanding of working in a complex, very constrained and sensitive environment; Excellent negotiation skills, and politically astute. You are experienced in identifying, analysing humanitarian needs & designing potential responses. You are known as pragmatic and practical. You have experience of managing security in a volatile environment and enjoy doing it. You are confortable in supervising financial issues. Experience in managing nutrition and health activities will be a strong added value. Excellent command of English language. Knowledge of Arabic would be an asset.
SPECIFIC CONDITIONS / SALARY
– 12 months fixed term contract under French legislation
– Monthly gross salary from 3300 to 3800EUR upon experience
– Monthly per diem and living allowance: 450EUR net, field paid
– Monthly country allowance: 728$EUR
– 16% of the gross monthly salary for pension insurance reimbursement for non-French citizens
– Transportation and accommodation: Coverage of transportation costs and guest house
– Medical coverage: 100% coverage of health contributions (CFE + complementary health) and repatriation insurance
– Leaves and RnR: 25 days of paid leaves per year, 20 RnR per year and 300$ at each RnR period
