RESPONSIBILITIES

You will work with the Country Director and lead Action Against Hunger programme development, implementation and strategy in Afghanistan.
More precisely you’ll be in charge of :
– Coordinate technical country strategy and ensure operational management of all technical areas,
– Represent and liaise for operational strategy and program related issues to donors, authorities, UN, NGOs,
– Analyze the Humanitarian needs,
– Ensure overall management of the Technical Heads of Departments,
– Follow-up on management of program budgets

REQUESTED PROFILE

– A Master’ s degree in development / humanitarian aid, international affairs, public health, economics or similar fields
– At least 6 years of management experience and significant experience with international NGOs. Experience with humanitarian programming preferred.
– Work experience on emergency as well as medium to large scale development projects, especially those dealing with Health & Nutrition, MHCP, food security & livelihoods sectors;
– Experience in managing multi-year development projects
– Excellent management and leadership skills in a complex international setting and good stress management.
– Recognised interpersonal skills and capacity to represent your organisation in external meetings : diplomatic and negotiation skills.
– Disciplined, organised and able to work independently.
– Fluent in English (verbal and written) and have good written and spoken skills in the language of the humanitarian operation.

SPECIFIC CONDITIONS / SALARY

– 12 months fixed term contract under French legislation
Conditions of employments for expatriates :
– Monthly gross salary from 2735EUR to 3185EUR upon experience
– Monthly per diem and living allowance 190EUR + 273EUR net, field paid
– Monthly country allowance: 450EUR
– 16% of the gross monthly salary for pension insurance reimbursement for non-French citizens
– Transportation and accommodation: Coverage of transportation costs and guest house
– Medical coverage: 100% coverage of medical expenses and repatriation insurance
– Leaves and RnR: 25 days of paid leaves per year, 20 RnR per year and 215 EUR at each RnR period
