Created in 1979, Action Against Hunger is an international non-governmental organization that fights against world hunger. Its charter of humanitarian principles – independence, neutrality, non-discrimination, free and direct access to victims, professionalism, transparency – has founded its identity for more than 40 years. Its mission is to save lives by eliminating hunger through the prevention, detection and treatment of undernutrition, particularly during and after emergencies linked to conflict and natural disasters. Action Against Hunger coordinates its programs around 5 areas of activity: Nutrition and Health – Mental Health, Psychosocial Support and Protection – Food Security and Livelihoods – Water, Sanitation and Hygiene – Advocacy. Mission :
This position implementing innovative approaches (community-led MEAL, learning strategies, DHIS2 data management system, etc.) involves motivating challenges.
As part of your “IT” mission, your main target will be to strengthen the use of DHIS2, the Action Against Hunger program data warehouse, through the creation of quality control algorithms and configuration automation. forms and data import tasks.
In short, your main mission is to maximize the potential of DHSI2 by developing innovative solutions and guaranteeing data quality, in order to improve our decision-making process.
If you choose to join us, go beyond the core tasks assigned. In addition to reinforcing the use of DHSI2, you will have to juggle a series of secondary missions:
– Configure a Python programming environment
– Create metadata import algorithms
– Create data import algorithms
In this way, you strengthen the team’s capabilities by creating a development environment in Python and creating data and metadata import algorithms that are adaptable according to the context and type of data available. The most common application case is the transformation of data files entered under another collection system, available in CSV or Excel format, into a JSON data object to then allow import of beneficiaries and then their monitoring data.
Depending on your progress, you will be able to take on more and more responsibilities over the months (e.g.: “Aledia” project which consists of the collection of mobile data as part of the implementation of a single patient circuit in Mali; or the project “NEAT” which consists of the environmental impact analysis of activities)!

Integrating Action Against Hunger means:
Live the experience of teleworking: Open to all and from the mainland territory, our teleworking policy defines the activities of the position requiring an imperative presence time at the headquarters of the association, and allows you to choose to exercise fully or partially the rest of this time teleworking. To this end, a mandatory presence at headquarters of 6 days per month has been defined for this position. Presence time at headquarters will also be dedicated to collective sharing: 3 days per month on average for meetings and collective events and 2 days of compulsory presence for the first 6 weeks when you join the team.
